Generals in Dami Im‘s army of fans have made a major push for her to represent Australia at Eurovision 2015. She topped our hypothetical Australia at Eurovision poll in 2014. And now she’s slaying in our poll in 2015. All the hype and rumours surrounding the Korean-Australian pop sensation and Eurovision have compelled her to speak out on social media.

I just wanted to tell you something. Recently so MANY of you have been asking and wanting me to be on Eurovision and I’ve noticed the enormous effort you were all making to push for that opportunity for me.. I don’t know who is going to represent Australia in Eurovision this year but for me it doesn’t matter anymore! You know why? Because seeing your belief and passion towards me as an artist has given me so much encouragement! It’s helped me to keep moving forward! Of course it would be amazing for whoever that gets to go, but for me no matter what happens I will keep developing as an artist. Sometimes as a normal human being I have my doubts too but realizing that I have people like you who support me no matter the outcome, I get up and start running again. I have an amazing song coming up soon and more exciting plans for this year.. and all I can say is thank you for trusting and showing me that continuous support and I will keep doing what God has blessed me with and make music for the rest of my life.. Thanks and love you all xx

Fortunately for her fans, she hasn’t explicitly ruled out Eurovision. And the line “no matter what happens…” suggests to our ears that her name has at least been passed around by SBS officials. In any event, there’s still hope that SBS will see the light and invite Dami to be the representative from Down Under.

Why we want Dami Im at Eurovision

How do you feel about Dami’s post? Is there still hope? Do you still want her? Is there anyone else you would like to see sing for Australia? Let us know. And if you’re still stressed out, why not unwind with the acoustic version Dami’s smash hit Super Love?

You can follow all of our Australia Eurovision news here.

Dami is the winner out of all this whether she represents Australia or not. If she is chosen, finally the World gets to witness her incredible World Class talents & giving Australia a realistic chance of winning or if someone else is chosen, how would SBS, Blink T.V & Sony Australia be viewed & looked upon around the world? Sony Australia has already been branded unsavoury names Nationally & one can only speculate & imagine how they would be viewed if they don’t approve Dami. The floodgates have already opened & Dami & her brand is sweeping Euphoric levels. The… Read more »

I remember everyone on Xfactor talking about Dami as Australia’s own World Class talent. Normie Rowe, a legend with decades of Music industry experience said Dami can become & I quote “The greatest” ever Artist to come out of Australia. Rhonda “Legs” Burchmore who is also an icon & legend in Aussie Showbiz & entertainment industry for decades, Twittered with thousands of others at the Carols in Domain performance of Dami where many of the other mentioned contenders for Eurovision performed on the same night, sadly Dami made them look second rate, like a schoolboy vs a seasoned World Class… Read more »

Dami is the complete package, the best vocalist to come out of a reality TV show. With her music credentials, powerhouse vocals & her ability to captivate audience with her likeable personality, she will surely bring Australia the gold. If Australia is serious in winning, then they should send Dami to eurovision. Vocally, no one come close to Dami. And With her xfactor experience & performances at big gigs & audience locally & overseas post xfactor no doubt she will soar at eurovision.

There is a singer who represents everything that’s good about Australia. She has the personality of an angel that grabs you at first sight, be it at a gig or through a television screen. Her voice has been described as the best to come out of Australia, by people who have been in the industry for more than 40 years. When she sings she can soar like an eagle or whisper to your heart. In practical terms she has the experience of large television audiences. There is no doubt that Dami Im is unique to Australia, and is a world… Read more »

What an Angel Dami is. She is looking after her fans in saying she is very appreciative in the way they support her no mater what and realizing the amount of emotion and passion they have for her she is saying the decision is out of her or her fans hands and not to be disappointed if she is not the one as life goes on. How ever she said it would be exciting if she was chosen for Eurovision and so would her fans. She is still a top contender and would do Australia proud.

I want Dami Im to represent Australia at Eurovision 2015. Dami has the training (Masters Degree) and vocal range and ability to represent Australia in an epic way. I believe that Dami will highlight the multicultural successes of Australia and the audience will find this unique, interesting, and memorable. Dami also represents the best virtues of Australians through her appealing personality and her charitable commitments. She is an Ideal and proven ambassador of Arts and Culture, and always delivers.

Well I don’t know about Dami Im not knowing who is going to represent Australia at this year’s ESC, and she probably doesn’t, but it is patently obvious to me! After looking at all of the names being thrown around up to now, and if we actually want a good chance of winning, then there is only one uniquely talented singer and beautiful performer (in soul and body), who has already demonstrated that she has what it takes to win over a large audience live and on TV – but then she doesn’t know who should be chosen for this… Read more »

She came out from the Shadows and amazed everyone with her musical genius…Dami Im slays the stage and that combined with her awesome voice makes her a worthy contender. As much as I like Kylie M, I think Eurovision needs someone fresh like Dami Im to wow the audience and make Australia proud.

Back to back drag queen? Hardly exciting darling….
Oh and totally agree about Dami Im… ‘pretty’ is not adequate to describe her… she is a stunning beauty!
Let’s get back to the contest… a song contest…about singing… and Dami Im’s powerful vocals cannot be matched…Dami Im is Australia’s best choice!!

To be honest, as much as i love veteran singers like Kylie Minogue, Guy Sebastian, Delta Goodrem to name a few; they would not risk participating in a Eurovision competition. I’d much prefer rising stars like Dami Im, perhaps Jessica Mauboy too but she has already appeared on last year’s competition and it wouldn’t be as exciting. Thoughts?

could we send courtney act please? it would be great to have a back-to-back drag queen winning the show.

dami im is great but i’m not trying to be shady but she’s not… pretty? lol. besides, she already made an appearance in abu tv song festival and it would be like recycling to me. it’s not exciting.

Of course Dami would love to go (judging by the tone of the post). Her post was more of a reality check for fans who’s desires may not necessarily be the same as the official choice… but seriously, this very talented lady needs to go international, and escape the confines of regional markets… she deserves an international audiance. I firmly believe she is the best choice, if she does not get the spot, well, so be it… at least her name was put out there in a positive manner… its all good.

As a developing artist, Dami has already achieved so much and have broken so many records on XFactor and in the music industry that it doesn’t matter anymore whether she’s new or not. If we want to win or at least show a solid performance on stage where viewers will get astounded even just by the sheer power of the voice, we need an artist who is the best live performer at the moment, modern, fresh and current with today’s hits. There’s no one else who fits to a T but Dami Im.

Dami Im should be the artist representing Australia at the ESC, because she has what it takes to win. If we want to talk about pure vocal prowess, Dami has got it in spades with her incredible voice. If we want to talk about musical abilities, how about Bachelor Degree with first class honours in Music, and Master in Contemporary Voice? Dami was a child prodigy in piano and has won several State level competitions. During her stint on X Factor 2013, which she won, Dami received 7 consecutive standing ovations. No other contestants in the X Factor franchise has… Read more »

Sorry to be blunt but some Aussies would be upset if their very FIRST Eurovision competing act(after so many decades of watching) is a newbie like Dami Im. SBS will likely go by veterancy. Maybe in 2-3 years time she will be chosen but right now its too soon

SBS should be very careful in their choice lest they miss the opportunity to have the very best Artist Australia has to offer at Eurovision. First of all it is a song contest. Dami Im is unmatched in her vocal ability…tone, pitch, control, power – all perfect…She can sing any genre. Impressive stage presence… Stunning beauty…appealing personality…intelligent…long list of credentials, including touring with John Legend in Australia to open his shows, representing Australia at the invitation of the Australian Embassy for their Australia Day celebrations in Korea and China this year which included performing for an Audience 2000 strong of… Read more »

Although, I’m okay with Dami Im going for the Aussies (she has great chances to do great!), I believe that Delta Goodrem should go. She’s one of the biggest faces they have and she would be a killer move, excellent potential for winning with her flying that flag. When I listen to her songs I’m hooked to her 100% and she has great chemistry with the camera. And I go back to say, if Dami goes, I’ll back the entry to the fullest. But, I think that if Australia wants to have better chances at Top 5 – Top 10,… Read more »

I would still want Dami as the singer for Australia at the ESC because she is the best that we have!
She is just saying to her fans that there are others being proposed to SBS and if she isn’t selected then they shouldn’t ‘t be too disappointed. She seems willing to accept if its offered to her and the song is good.
Dami is still a contender and definitely the one I would prefer!
