Eurosong 2015 – the Irish national selection for Eurovision – will take place on 27 February. Among the hopefuls is Nikki Kavanagh with her power ballad “Memories”. She’s already an early favourite, but some fans are worried that she may be too similar to Malta’s Amber and Georgia’s Nina Sublatti. What do y’all think? Read the lyrics below and let us know.

Memories Lyrics – Nikki Kavanagh

Don’t wanna be another tragedy
A book you wouldn’t wanna read
Watch your life pass by before my eyes

Waiting on my charming prince
The one who’s never gonna make sense
And leaves an echo in my mind

Can somebody turn it down?
Can somebody shut it off?
‘Cause I don’t wanna hear it
I don’t wanna hear it, I’ve had enough

Can somebody turn it down?
Can somebody shut it off?
‘Cause I don’t wanna hear it
I don’t wanna hear it, please
Bad memories and melodies

Don’t wanna write another love song
That I wouldn’t wanna sing along
I’m finally fine being with me and myself
And I this time

Don’t need no one to save the day
To chase me on a plane or train
I’m finally fine keeping you off my mind

Can somebody turn it down?
Won’t somebody shut it off?
‘Cause I don’t wanna hear it
I don’t wanna hear it, I’ve had enough

Can somebody turn it down?
Can somebody shut it off?
‘Cause I don’t wanna hear it
I don’t wanna hear it, please
Bad memories and melodies

Oh… the memories
Oh… and melodies

Can somebody turn it down?
Can somebody shut it off?
‘Cause I don’t wanna hear it
I don’t wanna hear it, I’ve had enough

Burn these stupid love songs everybody’s singing
Making me think of you again
So turn it off please
Bad memories and melodies

I think if we send this to Vienna, the possibilities are practically endless.
