“Building Bridges” is the slogan of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, and Moldova did just that in its national selection O melodie pentru Europa, opening its doors to foreign acts. And y’all embraced them. Three of the top 5 acts in our poll come from abroad.
Italian stallion Domenico Protino and X Factor UK diva Kitty Brucknell top the poll results, followed at some distance by SunStroke Project feat. DJ Michael Ra and by Ukrainian heartthrob Eduard Romanyuta. While Domenico posted the poll on his Facebook page, the others didn’t, which gives us an idea as to where the actual preferences lie. Nonetheless, all is fair in love and (Eurovision) wars, so Domenico Protino’s song “Let Me Fly” won this round. It remains to be seen tonight whether it will advance to the final, but something tells us that he could fly straight to the final. Here is the acoustic version of his song:
O MELODIE PENTRU EUROPA 2015 – POLL RESULTS
[polldaddy poll=8659400]
773 votes have been cast for this semi-final. (Don’t forget that you can still vote for the second semi-final!)
Based on the fact that eight of the 12 acts will advance to the final on 28 February, you do not want to see Marcel Rosca, Serj Kuzenkoff, Anisoara Volinschi, and Irina Kitoroaga on Saturday. However, seeing as only 10 votes separate the last place from the fourth to last, it’s going to be a tight race.
Moldova’s first semi-final of O melodie pentru Europa kicks off tonight at 18:45 CET. It will be broadcast live on the TRM.md website here. The second semi-final will be broadcast at the same time on 26 February. The winner will be selected during the national final on 28 February.
