We have confirmation y’all! Earlier today, CEO of SBS Australia Michael Ebeid sat down with Australian LGBT radio station Joy 94.9FM and has confirmed that we will hear the artist and song for Australia this coming Thursday March 5 at 9am AEST (that is at 10pm March 4 if you are in the UK, 11pm if you are on CET, so on and so forth).

Right now it is unclear if the song and artist will be presented on the SBS television station – which would involve an interruption to the broadcast of the French news (tres désolé), or if it will be broadcast over their national radio station, but y’all need to mark this historic date in your calendar because it’s going to be huge!

Michael Ebeid also confirmed that SBS initially wanted to televise a national final for the ticket, however time constraints prevented them from doing so. He also confirmed that most names being circulated around the media are all “pretty right” and cited big names like Kylie Minogue, Tina Arena and Guy Sebastian with further “great talent that (SBS) get to choose from.”

We’ve already listed a huge wealth of talent here at wiwibloggs who we want to see represent the country. Mr Ebeid’s comments are going to be sending the rumour mill in to overdrive no doubt too. Who do you want to see being presented on March 5th? Let us know in the comments below.

This will complete a huge week for song reveals. After Ireland yesterday and Hungary, Moldova, Finland, Slovenia, Spain, Greece, Portugal and the United Kingdom all set to reveal their songs in the coming week! You can keep up to date with all these reveals here on wiwibloggs, and make sure you’re following us on our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

BitneyHooker we are not obsessed with Dami, coming from Netherlands I was holidaying in Australia & being a John Legend Fan, my friends invited me to he’s concert, Dami was John’s special guest & as soon as I heard her, I like everyone else was hooked….I am assuming you are very , very young like a teenager? To understand Dami’s Music you need to connect with the Lyrics, her voice connects because she is the most powerful, emotional singer & we feel that….If you don’t then you are one of the few exceptions…

Why everybody is obsessed with Dami Im? I don’t like her music. Okay voice is good, but her songs are… not. I was sad when Third D3gree didn’t made into the finals that year. Didn’t even watched the finals.
Send someone who’s not so pop Australia! Please! We need more indie and r’n’b in Eurovision!

Since there are no well known Greek singers, I’m backing Dami. Loved her ever since I saw her on Xfactor. She is Eurovision material. Great Vocals, stage experienced, superb live performer, and ideal family viewing or as we saw on Xfactor can be dressed like Lady Gaga for extra production & razzamataz….

Dami Im would be a fantastic choice to represent Australia. She is Humble, Elegant and has a perfect angelic voice. Please do not recycle old talent. Give the opportunity for a new fresh artist to take the Eurovision crown. That would be Dami Im. Thank you for the chance to voice my opinion.

Dami Im is potentially the best singer to ever come out of Australia. She is the Tim Cahill of the music industry, always doing their best. Give her the chance to represent Australia in Eurovision, #SBS. Let her sing SPEAK UP, she will slay!

Judging by her performances and credentials, Dami Im has absolutely the best and most versatile vocals. Seeing Dami’s sweet and humble nature, continuting to reach out to help others with her humanitarian efforts, that tops the cake for me. Therefore I vote Dami Im all the way!!

I am repeating myself here. Since Dami Im auditioned in the X factor we witnessed a phenomenon, every audience everywhere got hook after listening Dami sing. It become addictive. It is her humble personality, her stage presence or her powerful voice or all of the above. She has been producing the same response everywhere she has been, Australia, South Korea, Singapore or China. This are the reason why I believe than Dami Im would conquer the Eurovision audience as well.

Only Dami im has the vocals and Stage presence that will win Eurovision 2015 for Australia, choose anyone else will be a big mistake, Dami is fresh, has a killer Voice, a wonderful person and forgeous, she also has the Song ready, just having returned from Sweden with a swag of new Music.

If SBS are serious about sending the Best talent we have to Eurovision… keeping in mind phenomenal vocal ability, impressive stage presence and credentials, lasting crowd appeal, experience amongst other qualities.. then the perfect fit is Dami Im. I hope they make the right choice. Dami will make Australia proud.

Dami Im has got to be the best choice for Australia despite the wealth of talented people suggested. She has a world class voice, she has the experience of competing and winning in a high profile television contest ( and succeeded in boosting viewing figures at the same time!), she has the personality of an angel that oozes from stage and screen, and I can think of no better way of representing Australia’s multicultural society and musical talent. Give her the right song and she will take it to unthought of heights. Want proof? Have a look at http://youtu.be/QcSN0rEy6VE (audio… Read more »

Dami has been collaborating with European songwriters, the Swedish Trinity boys and Aussie Hayley Aitken. Together they have produced hits like Superlove and Gladiator. With Dami’s killer vocals, they could produce another killer song for Eurovision. And Dami will just slay the stage. Let the chosen artist be Dami Im!

For a song of 3 minutes LIVE, to represent Australia, in an International Competition, there is only ONE name that stands out DAMI IM. Proven as a competitor under pressure (11 standing ovations in 14 songs, through her X Factor Journey) The most powerful voice in Australia (X Factor 2013, Xmas Carols 2013 & 2014, StartKing) Plus the “Success Story” of Multiculturalism in Australia. Are facts that will be impossible to ignore.

Get an experienced European Song writer to Collaborate with Dami & let her Supreme musical talents & voice do all the talking. If anyone can deliver killer vocals & make any song sound Epic, it’s Dami.

I don’t want Australia to just make up the numbers @Eurovision, if Australia wants a realistic chance to Win & most likely co-host the event with another European Country in 2016, The word’s echoing ” 12 Points to Australia” is only likely with Dami .

I would love to see a young artist win as it will be far more exciting than an older established artist. My favourite is Dami Im. I saw her perform on Friday and she was fantastic. Her voice keeps getting better.

I just heard few things from Dami Im and I am all for her!!!! If they compose a good song, she could bring Australia a high place, even a win.

This is their one big chance and I really hope they make the best out of it. My advice to the Aussies: Pick a good song; do not play the famous person card, or statement card (someone who is some kind of minority), or any other card, just pick a damn good song.

Hopefully, since Dami was performing for SBS Radio on Friday at Sydney’s World Square must mean that Dami’s name is right up there for the final choice. Dami is the obvious choice for Eurovision, but who knows what kind of wheeling and dealing is going on within the Record Labels….fingers crossed for Dami Im!

Paul

The obvious choice is Dami Im of course ? As the holder of the record for the most standing ovations of any talent show, outstanding musical qualifications, experienced performing under pressure in front of large audiences, killer vocals and an endearing personality, Dami is the most qualified and most likely to bring us the votes as she win everyone over wherever she performs ?

The reason Dami Army World was established in late 2014 was for this very moment, so people around the World have the chance to hear what many believe is the most Amazing voice ever heard. This girl is simply sublime & has already built up a reputation as the finest “LIVE” singer going around. She is a proven big time performer – her recent Carols performance in front of 100K mourning Australians is testament to her special gift, where she was trending on Twitter.

@ Adam. I totally agree with you. Vanessa and Nikki performed at Olympic Games in 2000. They were both great. They knew how to sing in front of a huge audience.

Aren’t you fed up with reading over and over again about Kylie Minogue? She is a great pop-singer, but her participation would be much more surprising than let’s say Japan joining to Eurovision.

Same here, I don’t know why Im thinking the 1st week of March is another full week away when March 1 is just tomorrow. I just had a realization March 1 is JUST tomorrow, the day Spain finally releases their song, was originally feeling like March 1 was next Wednesday or something.

Crossing fingers for them to reveal and actual BIG artist from Australia. Delta Goodrem (highly doubtful) or Guy Sebastian for me would be great. Dami Im or Samantha Jade for me are likely to be the one. Whoever goes for me is good! Good luck to the Aussies!!!
