Uzari & Maimuna, who will represent Belarus in Vienna with “Time”, have just filmed the music video for their song, with a planned released date of 16 March. It was a busy shoot, lasting the whole day and well into the night at a studio in Minsk. Now only one thing remains – editing. Until then, BTRC, the Belarus national broadcaster, has revealed some intriguing details of the video. Let’s take a look.
In the early morning, while Maimuna was still blissfully asleep in bed, Uzari was hard at work in the studio. For a scene that involved him running, he spent over three hours jogging on a treadmill. He describes the shoot:
First, we started with some running. During the beginning of the song we are running – many, many takes. I have even lost some weight and my pants are slipping! I’ll have to tighten them!
Uzari will play a mythical character, complete with elf ears. The plot of the video will involve Uzari trying to save Maimuna, and facing many obstacles, as director Dmitry Semyonov explains. And it’s not an easy journey for our hero – he’s faced with harsh and ever-changing weather conditions – ash, snow, fire and wind. Uzari even runs through a dangerous desert. To create this, the video producers trucked in 11 tons of sand. The video also involves some fake hands, as seen in this intriguing Tweet:

The climax of the music video will involve giant hourglasses that can fit several people inside. We can’t wait to see what they do with this!
