The Wiwi Jury — our in-house team of music unprofessionals — continues its journey through Germany ahead of the Unser Song Für Österreich 2015 final this Thursday. Partying is part of our life – that’s why we went to the night-life of Berlin to party and shake our butts. That’s also why we had a chance to review Noize Generation with their songs “A Song For You” and “Crazy Now“. Were their songs good enough for our disco performance or did we get bored on the dancefloor? Read on to find out.

NOIZE GENERATION – A SONG FOR YOU

Kristin: This is awesome! And what a delightfully entertaining video. I also worry about the staging, but just a little. I don’t doubt for one second that they won’t come up with some magnificent gimmick on stage. This might not be the greatest dance track in the world, but it sure as hell works for me.

Score: 9.5/10

Louis: I enjoy dance music and this has so much potential, it’s just that it doesn’t get me off my seat. Music like this should get you jumping on the ‘drop’ and this simply doesn’t do that. Without this ‘drop’ in Vienna, people will just be standing there watching the instrumental tune play out whilst Noize Generation just stand there? Not the best way to go.

Score: 6.5/10

Max: Now we’re talking! If Germany want to get 12 points from the United Kingdom then just send this. It’s the sort of song that would feature in our top 40 chart most weeks! Whenever I’m in my car I listen to music like this. An intense beat with a hook that makes you just want to get up and dance! I can see the laser lights flashing in Wiener Stadthalle already!

Score: 8/10

Mikhail: I think that I should dance with this song, but I don’t want to. Though the tune is very nice and the singer sounds good, I do not feel the energy. There is some kind of depression in this song, which doesn’t fit in. All I can imagine is a very tired and bored person in the club waving on stage, not caring about the music and thinking: “When will I go home?”.

Score: 5/10

Patrick: It could turn out as a big dancefloor hit but there is something missing – you want to dance but you can’t really move…. His voice is strong, but the song itself is an Avici rip-off and it gets boring after a few moments! Maybe they will be placed high but I don’t want to see them in Vienna!

Score: 5/10

Robyn: This is a cool love song, but it’s also a dance track and that leads to one issue: if a song like this went to Vienna, what would happen on stage during all the instrumental parts? Maybe the loved-up couple from the music video could come on and do some snogging. I suspect it would leave the song feeling empty, not a good choice for the ESC.

Score: 6/10

WIWI JURY AVERAGE: 6.67/10

NOIZE GENERATION – CRAZY NOW

Kristin: I could party with this. With glowsticks and whatnot. But unlike “A song for you”, this might not deliver as well in Eurovision, unless they have spectacular gimmicks to go along with it. However, I like this song too, and its definitely going on my playlist.

Score: 8/10

Louis: Basically a dance song, but I don’t know how they would go about doing this in the final. Saying that, Greece used a trampoline to good effect last year with “Rise up” so Noize Generation could do the same? The actual tune isn’t that good either, being  a bit disappointing after the build up and does’t really go anywhere.

Score: 4/10

Max: I’m not a fan of this one. It hasn’t got the same flow that the other one has and it sounds a bit chaotic in certain parts. The lyrics should be a bit more complex as its too repetitive and lacks any form of creativeness. I feel like I’m in a disco with a glass of champagne, but like the song, it’s lost its fizz.

Score: 4/10

Mikhail: He says “start something crazy now” like he is begging someone. And then this long “out of time…”, which is quite boring, but it makes you believe that after it something really crazy will pop up, but it did not. Just some dancing boring tune.

Score: 4.5/10

Patrick: This is sooo much better than their first song. His voice sparkles really in it and it’s a beat, a stunning beat you won’t forget – this could work, y’all. “We’re out of time” – modern meets pop meets amazing vocalist. AH!

Score: 8/10

Robyn: This is even more instrumental than “A Song for You” is. It’s really a big dance track, way more suited to a nightclub than Wiener Stadthalle. A song like this would require a serious visual gimmick to work at the ESC. Maybe this time the couple from “A Song For You” could haul a paddling pool on stage and recreate the lake swim.

Score: 4/10

WIWI JURY AVERAGE: 5.42/10
