“Golden Boy” —Nadav Guedj‘s Eurovision 2015 song for Israel — will be revealed on March 12 at 20:00 CET on Israel’s Channel 1. We’re glad to know the song is finally coming. Thus far Nadav, the winner of “The Next Star”, has been rather tight-lipped about his plans. But earlier this week it emerged that he will sing a song called “Golden Boy”. It’s appropriate given that he is a) just 16 years old and b) beloved to so many fans already.

A song is born

Shortly after the grand final of “The Next Star”, a special committee made up of the show’s producers and execs from Israeli television (IBA) chose the song. It was written by Doron Medalie, a composer behind many Israeli hits. Doron has also directed some of the Israeli entries at Eurovision in recent years.
Doron wrote the song “Tel Aviv” – it was the theme song for the gay pride events in 2013, but also became a bit hit all over Israel since then.

In an interview with Israeli media, Doron has said that the song was written to fit Nadav: it’s funky, cool, and, in his words, very “Mediterranean Bruno Mars.”

Doron Medalie - Israel composer 2015

His dream was to make Europe dance and now it’s coming true. He previously attempted to send a song to Georgia’s national final together with the composer Svika Pick (that composed “Diva” in 1998). Doron really loves Eurovision and has imported some Eurovision hits to Israel by reworking the lyrics in Hebrew. See, for instance, “Opa” and “Dime”.

Yinon yahel israel producer 2015

It has also been revealed that the successful producer Yinon Yahel, who worked with many different artists in Europe and USA (His latest remix is Madonna’s Living For Drums”), will produce the song “Golden Boy”.

@ Well there was a girl on the Next Star show that called herself Britney of Israel & there was another one that called herself Beyonce of Israel..
Nadav on the show was being called as the israelian Justin Timberlake 4 the record..

I don’t mind if he wants to be called Bruno Mars..
I didn’t had an issue with Bruno Mars of Denmark {oh i just forgot his real name now 4 real & im not kidding! 😛 Oh yes…Its Basim.. 🙂 }
and i won’t with Nadav either..
