With just over a week until his appearance in the Melodifestivalen final, Måns Zelmerlöw already has something to celebrate. His #melfest song “Heroes” has topped the Swedish charts of both iTunes and streaming service WiMP. But that’s not the only surprise the charts have.

Screen shots reveal all – Måns is comfortably keeping Ellie Goulding and Jon Henrik Fjällgren from that number one spot.

He shared the good news with his fans on Facebook.

Melfest in the charts

And Måns isn’t the only Melfest 2015 star to make an impact on the Swedish iTunes chart. Most of the Andra Chansen contestants and Måns’ fellow finalists are now in the iTunes top 100. The only artists missing are finalists JTR and Andra Chansen contenders Behrang Miri feat. Victor Crone and Malena Ernman. Will these chart positions reflect the public vote?

3. Jon Henrik Fjällgren – “Jag Är Fri”

7. Magnus Carlsson – “Möt mig i Gamla stan”

9. Eric Saade – “Sting”

11. Isa – “Don’t Stop”

12. Samir & Victor – “Groupie”

14. Mariette – “Don’t Stop Believing”

15. Hasse Andersson – “Guld och gröna skogar”

23. Dinah Nah – “Make Me”

25. Linus Svenning – “Forever Stars Today”

31. Kristin Amparo – “I See You”

60. Andreas Weise – “Bring Out the Fire”

62. Dolly Style – “Hello Hi”

68. Jessica Andersson – “Can’t Hurt Me Now”

And the chart has another surprise. There at number 16, sitting very comfortably between Hasse Andersson and Taylor Swift, is Erika Selin. Her song “Break Me Up” may not have impressed the Eurosong voters of Ireland, but it’s doing rather well in her home country. The Irish charts, it must be noted, have a distinct lack of Eurosong acts in them.

@Iberian: How much did Conchita pay to sniff some coke and go bananas for something so irrelevant and reductive as a “we are unstoppable”? This is the Eurovision Song Contest and not another night out at the gay bar down town. Get a grip!

Good luck Måns!

Sweden should allow Erika Selin into this contest as a wildcard, haha…

I’m still supporting Linus to win.

@Iberian: You can do whatever the hell you want but you can’t tell me what to support and what to not support. Homophobe or not, couldn’t care less, I hope his song wins the MF.

Oh yes, and to WTF: No, we will NEVER accept homophobes or any similar disgusting behavior, whatever people like you might say. We are unstoppable! YOU better accept that.

I don’t care what you do, geez and all the other homophobes. I just hope that everyone else has learnt the lesson and won’t support homophobes, be it in a song contest or wherever. Don’t be silly: If someone had a great song, but admitted to be a racist, no one would support him.

I’m rooting for him in the final next Saturday.

Please choose one of them, Sweden.

I don’t give a f*ck if he’s homophobic. This is a song competition. He might even be a bad person, but still have a great song, and I would vote for him!

It will be shocking for me if Mans doesn’t win. Love his singing, song and staging. He is the absolute favorite of the bookies (who are typically right when it comes to Sweden) with around 1:2. I think he should be favored by the public and jury alike. I also think he has a great chance for another top3 position in Vienna.

My top 3 so far in the MF final:
1. Mans
2. Eric
3. Magnus

He’s homophobic, so what? Just accept the fact that not everybody is gonna step aside for your disgusting behavior. Seeing Mario’s comments is enough to turn anyone into a homophobe.

I seriously don’t understand how Sweden hasn’t won Eurovision every year since 2011. Year after year they send quality songs that are well deserving of the title!
I honestly hope they choose Mans to represent Sweden because the competition this year is look pretty weak with the exception of a few I.e. Germany and Slovenia.
If it’s not Mans then they should send Mariette she slayed in her performance and the song is much more superior than any other ballads that have been sent in so far.

I don’t care about his performance, he’s homophobic, so he doesn’t deserve our attention.

Seems safe to say Eric isn’t going to Vienna. He might get strong votes on the televotes but doubt the jury would fawn for him. Mans could attract both televotes and jury, but could lose jury votes to Mariette and Jon.

Probably one of three songs from Melfest that it’s on constant repeat!

Whatever people feel about him as a person, his performance really stood out!

@Otna – “Heroes” lyrics are not the typical la-la-la lyrics because they, surprisingly, have a deeper meaning.

“We are the heroes of our time
But we’re dancing with the demons in our minds”

LOL my three least favourite songs in the running are the three highest ones on the iTunes charts……

The performance of Heroes was absolutely spectacular but I found the lyrics incredibly repetitive and unimaginative, bordering on nonsensical. I really hope Sweden doesn’t send it!

Mans Zelmerlow will not win Melodifestivalen. He is first on chart, because he performed in last semi-final. This song is worse than his previous hits “Brother Oh Brother”, “Cara Mia” and “Hope & Glory”. He will be 3rd in final.
