The morning after the United Kingdom revealed Electro Velvet as its Eurovision 2015 contestants, the bookies have updated their odds for who will win Eurovision 2015. Italy’s Il Volo remains the favourites with their odds narrowing to 6/4 at Bet365. They’re followed by Estonia’s Elina & Stig, who sit at 4/1, and Finland’s Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät, who are also on at 4/1. (SkyBET has Finland at 7/2, putting them just ahead of Estonia).

Australia: Bookies colder on Guy Sebastian

Interestingly, since Australia’s big reveal that Guy Sebastian will sing at Eurovision his odds have widened significantly. When we last checked in ahead of the announcement, Betfred had him down as fourth favourite with odds of 10/1. Today they have dropped him to sixth favourite with odds of 16/1.

Electro Velvet odds to win

Perhaps most interesting to British Eurofans, however, is the fact that Electro Velvet have debuted in 10th position with their song “Still in Love with You.” As ever, we need to remember that British betting agencies have a tendency to rate the UK rather highly. Just days before last year’s final, they had the UK’s Molly down as the fifth favourite.

The song has proven to be very divisive with one camp saying it’s cheesy, dated and cheap, and another camp saying it’s fun, original, and a breath of fresh air. There’s still time for tweaks and a revamp, so perhaps the BBC will win over the haters.

BREAKING NEWS from australia
I think Guy Sebastian will show up at the ESC 2015 in Vienna with this song:
LIGHTNING – time: 3 min, 11 ‘sec……they will make a cut to max. 3,00 minutes.
From the last released album “Madness” from 21.11.2014. It’s an Uptempo!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NHLc1emZTw
If they make this choice they can have a big chance of winning it.

Let’s wait and we’ll see the official announcement on 16th march 2015.

No surprises to see Guy’s Odds drop, he was a contestant at World Idol & came 7th out of 11th & whilst he’s developed as an Artist since then, Sony Music Australia & SBS has chosen a safe option, rather than an Epic & Spectacular option in choosing Dami, where all her Fans in Australia & around the World would have placed Odds on Dami no matter what price…She is unfortunetly misused, neglected by Sony Australia & SBS to only Asian Countries….what a waste of Talent.

What??? Finland 3rd? United Kingdom 10th? While Ireland is…..last?
It annoys me how even when Ireland does make an effort, (it’s rare) it still is greatly underrated!
Top 10: (in no particular order)
Spain
Germany
Ireland
Slovenia
Georgia
FYR Macedonia
Serbia
Netherlands
Italy
Estonia

it’s all very distorted until we know the Aussie song, and also Russia, Sweden and Norway…not to mention Armenia and Azerbaijan. These last five have had a great track record in recent years…..if Norway send “Monster Like Me” I think it will be hard to beat. Given the lyrics, it could lend itself to some very imaginative staging.

My prediction so far:
1. AUSTRALIA……..take LADBROKES-Bookmaker NOW 15,0 !!!!!!!
2. ITALY.
3. NETHERLANDS
Remember:
Last year I predicted 1. AUSTRIA at 33, 2. NETHERLANDS at 50,
3. SWEDEN at 7,0 and that all 2 months in advance !!
Hopefully Australia with Guy Sebastian will choose a song like this:

please vote for Estonia, I would love for us to be winners, I havent heard all the songs yet, but at least if we won the state would have to spend more money on the contest than supporting political parties, that should campaign with their own money… plus, we would promise to do much better interval acts than last time! just kidding, vote for whoever you like, I am all for freedom of choice I kinda liked the start of the UK entry and got hopeful, but somehow it is very steady and a little flat after that. and since… Read more »

I’ve slept on it, read the hate filled posts, and I still don’t understand why people hate this so much. AS IF people are arguing that Molly Smitten Downes should represent the UK again this year. Are people’s memories that bad?!?! Last year was horrific – she didn’t even seem like she wanted to be there. I totally disagree with Wiwibloggs on this. We’re not going to win but no way going to come last. Do something productive guys and get yourself a petition to ask the BBC to be more transparent next time. NATIONAL FINAL IS A MUST FOR… Read more »

My prediction for Finland that they have chance to finish like Norway 2011 in semifinal. Favorite for win at Eurovision , stay in semifinal.
If they go to final , in final position from 20 to 27 in final.

I don t think that Russia wili be favorites, maybe they wili be in TOP 10 from 6 to 10 place like 2014, thanks only to televote, juries wili be cut so many points from combined voting like in 2014. When they be in some countries on first place in televote like Montengro and only 23 with juries and in combined voting they only be on 12 position and got 0 points from Montenegro. Same situation for Russia in Estonia last year 2nd in televote (thanks to diaspora)and only 24 with juries, on combined list they finished on 10 place… Read more »

I think fight for victory wili be between Italy, Norway (if they choose Monster like me) and Estonia. But I affraid that Norway and Italy wili be suffer because wili split the vote from 39 countires. Dark horse for victory Sweden (only if they send Mariette) , Azerbaijan (they gets so many points every year from juries, and many points from televote exept 2014 , we read that they buy some vote from televoters in history before 2014. Australia if EBU want them in 2016 and after 2016. Small chance for victory Slovenia and they maybe be suprise of final… Read more »

It will be two horse race. Estonia and Sweden will score about 250 points in final, the rest will receive much below 200 points.

Electro Velvet can do VERY well with a revamp. Average if it doesn’t. Could appeal to the slightly older crowd but the revamp would warm more demographics. It actually a good song, just not a winner.

For me Finland and then Greece is to overrated. Serbia, Georgia,Denmark,Cyprus most underrated on betting odds. Many on this site say Latvia is dark horse , I don t think so, I think dark horse from wili be Cyprus, composer of song was composer of Cyprus entry from 2004, and then many people didn t get many chance for good result for Cyprus and they come 5 th , maybe they would be better if Greece had weak entry . We know that greece diaspora vote split every time one both coutries had great song, and many time Cyprus lost… Read more »

The UK public hate the song, and feels betrayed by the BBC. The UK aren’t hyping up our entry at all.

This isn’t a ranking, I mean Finland isn’t better than Greece, or UK than Spain, but they are breaker. I don’t like this entries too, but i know that public will take notice to them. Obviously most of them won’t be in the TOP 10, but I’m sure one of them will be in the TOP 3, it happens every year and i would bet for Finland.

The bookies are never right. They made Austria favourite last year JUST before the voting announcements were made. OGAE can’t be trusted either. In 2013 San Marino was 2nd favourite but then didn’t qualify and 2014, Poland gave top points to UK but didn’t in the actual contest. I think though Estonia or Norway will win and UK may come around 15th with entries like Lithuania.

It’s not really a debut though? People have been placing bets for some time now, their ranking is built on previous bets, they’ll probably be dropping in a couple of weeks. Regardless of their opinion of the song, it would be quite risky to bet on an act that has mostly been met with negative reactions.

I don’t think betting odds or polls in any ESC news site are clear indications of the results, Eurovision is certainly more unpredictable than people give it credit for. I’ve still got my fingers crossed for Italy though.

My TOP 5:
1. Italy
2. Slovenia
3. Finland
4. Spain
5. Georgia

These songs are the best. Italy has the strongest melody and perfect marketing project, Slovenia is very catchy and the singer is sexy, Finland has perfect punk song and I love punk, Spain is very fresh amongst all ballads and Georgia is sexy evil. But I hope, that last 15 countries will bring even better songs.

I don’t like the UK’s song at all. I expect it to slip in the odds, but as you guys said, Molly was firming as a favourite before the final and we all know how that went.

Ireland’s position on those charts is not fair at all, I hope that turns around as it remains my favourite song.

Its too early to say. Lets wait the last month before the contest and especially the rehearsals. Early favourites dont win usually apart from 2005, 2009, 2012 and 2013. All the other years from 2001-2014 early favourites failed and the winners werent even in top 10 in predictions especially in 2001, 2002, 2004, Remember last year the Netherlands not even in top 20 and Austria out of top 10 until the last month. So its too early.

I can’t believe my country (UK) is 10th. Thats a big joke. I also predict that Italy will end up like France 2011. I
My predictions for the winner:
Norway (If they send Karin or the duet)
Estonia
Latvia (Its a dark horse)
Armenia (This will either be really good or a big massive flop)
Azerbaijan (I think last year was just a bad year)
Finland

The bettings odds are totally joke & ridiculous indeed! I will stop taking them seriously now.. Even the ogae fan clubs can not be that accurate when only few eurofans will vote on them and just 10 songs out from the 40 wil get points so it will not be accurate as well…But at least it will be way more indicative about the real hot favorites of the Diamond Vision and not about on which countries the trolls idiotic lame people bet with their money.. Im going to make my own top40 with honesty as i have the power to… Read more »

I would still prefer Moldova’s entry over UK’s and in fact, if only UK were in the semis, I bet Moldova would score higher than them and even advance to finals instead of them. That’s how bad UK’s entry is. Catchy but it’s not worthy to be in the Eurovision.

UK song is charming enough…It has style & flow.. Its unique & special.. I find the haters and all these fans that trash write about the song over the top and excessive…The song is definitely not truly bad…So just chill out all of you.. Lasy year in my Vision of wonderful Copenhagen UK’s song was my no1 most favorite pre contest {excluding the factor of its performance..} Ok it might won’t be this case this year in the Diamond Vision of Vienna but overall i will include UK not on my last places of my top40…Not even bottom 10 possibly..… Read more »

I’m just really happy Slovenia’s in the top 10. Hopefully they’ll start moving up, and hopefully Latvia will too. The only reason the UK is this high is because it’s the UK, if Moldova or Lithuania sent that song they’d be dead last.
