After revealing a short snippet of the song earlier today, Loïc Nottet has now released the full video for the Belgian Eurovision 2015 entry, “Rhythm Inside“. Filmed at the BlitzWork studios in London, the video’s theme focuses on opposites and fighting conceptions, with shots including two young girls: one a beauty queen, the other playing with dinosaurs. And of course, it also features a soaking wet Loïc at numerous points. Which we’re totally not complaining about.

The song itself is also super modern and definitely seems to be influenced by the likes of Lorde. We have to say: we are loving this one, y’all. Could Loïc bring the contest back to Belgium for the first time since 1987? Watch the video below with the Rhythm Inside lyrics also:

Rhythm Inside lyrics – Loïc Nottet

Listen to the sound of thunder
Rolling in the soul down under
Far beneath the skin, it rumbles
Step to the step of the drum that rolls inside

Be you enemy or lover
We are put here to discover
The heart that beats within each other
We’re going to ra-pa-pa, ra-pa-pa
We’re gonna ra-pa-pap tonight

And if we die tomorrow
What’ll we have to show?
For the wicked ways down below
The rhythm inside is telling us
We can fly tomorrow
On the beautiful wind that blows
On a cosmic track, love attack
I’m gonna get that rhythm back

Be you enemy or brother
We were put here to discover
The heart that beats within each other
We’re going to ra-pa-pa, ra-pa-pa
We’re gonna ra-pa-pap tonight

And if we die tomorrow
What’ll we have to show?
For the wicked ways down below
The rhythm inside is telling us
We can fly tomorrow
On the beautiful wind that blows
On a cosmic track, love attack
I’m gonna get that rhythm back

We’re going to ra-pa-pa, ra-pa-pa
We’re gonna ra-pa-pap tonight
We’re going to ra-pa-pa, ra-pa-pa
We’re gonna ra-pa-pap tonight
We’re going to ra-pa-pa, ra-pa-pa
We’re gonna ra-pa-pap tonight
We’re going to ra-pa-pa, ra-pa-pa
We’re gonna ra-pa-pap tonight

And if we die tomorrow
What’ll we have to show?
For the wicked ways down below
The rhythm inside is telling us
We can fly tomorrow
On the beautiful wind that blows
On a cosmic track, love attack
I’m gonna get that rhythm back

I am positively surprised. Even though I don’t listen to such a genre of music, this song is very unique. I love when some new styles are added to Eurovision. The videclip has been the best of all so far. After so many years of mediocre songs (I have to confess that my only Belgian songs which I like are the ones from 2013 and …1986) such a huge improvement. Well done Belgium! With some many similar songs in terms of style this year “Rhytm inside” can reach even TOP 5.

I’d support him. My bet is that he’ll have no problems in qualifying and that many might appreciate his song (just by seeing the comments/ratings in different websites). I don’t care how he sounds like and how his song sounds like.

Actually, we do not have to assume Lorde is wholly original, only the mixture of her inspirations is. And while Loic has a different voice, his style os singing sounds a bit similar to me, but that is not my point. Inspired songs does not contain the same musical elements as the original, nor do they sound vaguely familiar. Inspired songs only create the feelong ‘hey this is as cool as …’

Alex

This isn’t a ripoff in any significant sense… keep in mind that we’re assuming that Lorde’s instrumental style is wholly original – who can really be sure of that? And there’s a pretty marked difference between Loic’s vocal style and Lorde’s. If inspiration = ripoff then we’re going down a pretty unsteady path here.

It’s really not that hard to be original. A lot, and I mean a lot of artists can manage. They are just rarely seen in Eurovision. Then again, there is a difference between mediocre, non-original pop songs (like Unbroken) and rip-offs like this one.

It’ll be really interesting to see how this is staged tho, I can’t really imagine any dance moves for these and I can’t see how this would be pulled off if he just stood at a microphone. And also, why the hell does it even matter if he sounds similar to someone? You people are so annoying with that honestly do you know how hard it is to sound unique and most artists try their best but its never good enough for any of you, like jfc no one has a monopoly of a certain sound/genre so get over it…people… Read more »

The ESC crowd hates copycats, and this is more than just similar to Lorde’s style. I do not predict much success.

I love it! I will never argue with modern music making its way into eurovision. I could see it as something that I’d listen to anyway sop that’s always a sign of a good song, also Loic is cute but that’s not important

Wow, wow, wow. I hate the video. I mean HATE the video. But love the song. I mean LOVE the song. I can’t even predict anymore who will do well this year, the lineup is too deep. This song should be in the top ten, although I’m not sure who to displace. If we can expand the final to 27 because Australia wants in can we expand it to 35 because the songs are too incredible this year?

It’s really modern! I really like it! Amazing work Belgium! But I think it’s too modern for Eurovision :/ His voice is very interesting because it’s sounds like a women 😀 A few parts sounds like Lorde and this is that special thing on this song with his voice! In my Top it’s 4th place! Good luck neighbours! I wish I could vote for this!

This looks like it stands a fighting chance in the semi, rather than me thinking it was a definite NQ. My qualifier predictions (I know they haven’t all been released yet, but Russia, Azerbaijan etc. always do well): SF1 – Estonia, Georgia, Serbia, Russia, Belgium, Romania, Armenia, Finland, Moldova, Greece (maybe Albania rather than Greece). SF2 – Malta, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Slovenia, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, Ireland, Lithuania (maybe Cyprus over Lithuania). Germany & Italy are top 15 in the final definitely.

Dont like it. I thinks its boring, its not a song that gives me winner feelings at all like the last 3 years: loreen, emmely and conchita all had something special. Maybe this year is 2011 all over again and actually i can see Belgium winning (thanks to a pretty weak line up) but i would totally dislike it as a winner. Still waiting for that one killer song, maybe Sweden? Russia? Azerbaijan? Or the new version of Spain 🙂
