Despite some unfounded controversy about jury buying, Voltaj won Romania’s Selectia Nationala final in Craiova with 12 points from televoters and 12 points from the expert judges. The winning song “De la capat” is a warning to Romanian parents who leave their children at home to work abroad, effectively turning the little ones into orphans despite their best intentions. But what do the “De la capat” lyrics actually say?
Voltaj (singer Calin Goia, and band members Oliver Sterian, Valeriu Ionescu, Gabriel Constantin, and Adrian Cristescu) released the song in November 2014. Helped by the band’s huge popularity and by a stirring video, “De la capat” quickly became a radio hit. After Voltaj entered the song in Selectia Nationala 2015, it was only a matter of time until it won the ticket to Vienna. And, similar to the boy in the video, the guys will sail to the Austrian capital in May.

Would love a mix of both Romanian and English for the song tbh. It sounds great in both.
The more I listen to this song the more I like it! Actually, it’s a VERY good song and the guy has a lovely voice. It deserves to be in top 10

Ok, I may have exaggerated a bit, but my reaction was justified…
The guys look normal…nothing creepy about them…I actually quite like them as they are not over the top…The song is beautiful and lyrics better in Romanian obviously…First time in million years I really agree with Romania’s choice…And as long as they qualify in the final, I don’t care about the rest! Good luck!
Compared to recent years, I’m disappointed with Romania’s entry this year. My fave in still Playing with Fire in 2010.
