Nadav Guedj, the winner of The Next Star, has unveiled his Eurovision 2015 song “Golden Boy”  — and Nadav definitely lives up to the billing with this song. It’s exotic and full of Middle Eastern flair, and it doesn’t take itself too seriously. There is a playful element which makes it instantly appealing. The lyrics depict Nadav as a playboy ready to show his special lady how to do it Tel Aviv-style: “I’m a golden boy, come here to enjoy, I’m the king of fun, let me show you how we do it…” In a year full of ballads, it’s great to get an upbeat song like this.

Golden Boy – Nadav Guedj

Who is Nadav Guedj?

Originally from Paris, Nadav moved to Israel when he was three years old. He won The Next Star of Israel with 79% of the televote in the final.

What do y’all think? Is Nadav really a “Golden Boy”? Comment below!

My got I just got back to this… Wiwi, have you bothered checking what’s being written here? How can you not delete those posts by “Qele Qele”?

And for the nasty guy/girl behind it, learn some history and geography before writing those evil and foolish comments. The mistakes are hilarious actually.

Lol this is sooooooo funny. After listening to this song only once, my kids are singing it. Aaaaaaaa! Ha ha ha. Not a chance this will qualify. No way. But it made me happy.

If it doesn’t make the final I’ll understand that they withdraw.

Hmm, weird entry. The Israeli ambience is really ok. I love the verses, but the refrain is just horrible, is ruining the whole effect. Huge potential which wasn’t used. Pity.

Honestly, I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!! After two great songs that Europe completely left out for the final (I mean Israel did great by choosing Moran and Mei), THIS TOTALLY DESERVES FINAL!!!! Good luck Nedav!

@Qele-Qele I get that you have problems and I’m really sorry for what is going on in that part of the world these days, but this is a song contest. Evil wishes will never reconcile or bring peace. If you want to make a change, start by letting people know what is going on in a civilized manner in threads where it is relevant – wiwibloggs is not the place. Peace.

@Qele-Qele I’d like to know where an ignorant a***hole like you comes from. And, please don’t use the title of one of my favorite songs as your username. Long live Israel!

In a year of ballads we could be looking at Israel vying with Italy for the win

I like it very much!
I always prefer ballad so this year I’m really happy with so many ballads around,
but Golden Boy …… such an eye-opening piece of work!!!!!!
I can’t vote cuz I’m from Taiwan which is in the east part of Asia,
but part of my heart I’ll be standing with this song 🙂

ian from the philippines

the chorus sound like qule qule (armenia i think but im not sure). in a seas of ballad it will stand out. it very early 2000 justin timberlake.

There’s something Justin Timberlake-y about parts of the song. Does anyone know if the composer has ever written anything for him?

Mei got what it deserved, she was horrible on the night and her song was one of the worst in the contest, even Woki mit deim popo is better song than Same heart.

In the sea of ballads Goledn boy come as a fresh water. Love it, hope Nadav will be in final!

Some of the comments have been AWFUL. If you don’t like the song, dont vote for it. Why does the country even matter???
I personally do not support the Israeli government but that doesn’t mean that I won’t vote for Nadav. I LOVE the song and will vote for it. Hopefully he qualifies.

Facing a pop song, I always am a strict judge. And I must say, this one is going straight to my top 10! It’s brilliant. Fantastic building up, really nowadays music, and then it brings the smashing middle east chorus everyone loves. Well played Israel. It will make a change in this year which consists of low and mid tempo songs.

Sorry, last thing @Qele Qele we have come so far in life, with most people trying to make it equal for everyone but we are not going to have people like you drag it down. People like you are why we have middle fingers. If we are human, don’t judge because then we would care about Israel’s people also.

@Hartuka we in the UK have plenty of Muslims around us but that doesn’t mean I hate them. I like Israel’s song but I wouldn’t vote for it just because they are “disposing” of them. Plus I think Sweden Is one of the best countries ever!!

But when they said he would be a Mediterranean Bruno Mars, they weren’t kidding…

It’s fun, cheesy and has Eurovision written all over it. It will definitely stand out among all those ballads in the second semi. Could be this year’s ‘Cheesecake’

I think Israel will qualify this year.

the passage just after the intro sounds strangely familiar to ed sheeran’s sing, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlYcUqEPN58
it uses the same sound palet, which is made worse by the rhythm and the similar vocal technique, it’s not quite plagiarism, but god damn they sound similar

Cant believe people like Kuula and Qele Qele are writing this very offensive CRAP!! They should be banned. For f*ck sake its song contest, i just hate people like them, just f*cking leave this website, d*mn.

Much LOVE to Israel, you know we care about you. Please ignore these people x

LOVE it! It’s dated, but feels so fresh between all other songs. I ve missed ethno pop at ESC. Thank you so much Israel. Im sure you will make it to the final this year. With a great staging this will do top 10.

Just WOW. Didn’t really expect such a strong dance song from Israel. This song has an instant hook, it’s absolutely amazing. If he performs well, he will surely make it to the top 10( unfortunately top 5 is very hard to be reached because of the juries, who always rank pretty low this kind of songs)

I’m digging this, a breath of fresh air from all the overly-dramatic songs we’ve been getting. It deserves to qualify, and if it doesn’t I think Israel should withdraw from the contest, because they’ve been getting cheated out of the final for a couple years now.
It would be nice to say with conviction that Eurovision is purely a song contest, but alas, it is impossible to avoid all politicization in an event where countries are represented. I really like this song, but as I’m not very fond of Israel as a country, I wouldn’t feel comfortable voting for it.
