Eugene: It is not the lyrics that you should focus on, it is the joik itself. Many joiks don’t have any lyrics at all. I would really like Jon to win. Mans has a good song, but Jon’s entry is really different.

While everyone is practically focusing on Mans, Eric and Mariette, I think he could do well with a good performance. It’s about time Sweden sends something completely out of the box like this

He’s my favourite and hoping that Sweden sends him to Vienna! Good luck, Jon! Even if he doesn’t win, he’s still the winner in my heart. 🙂

“Joik is about Freedom” Why? He does not really explain why!! Apparently these are ALL the lyrics translated :-

(yojking)

In the rain that falls
Before day comes out from night
We stand before the storm
Together just you and I

(yojking)

In the wind that blows
Our breath lies

(yojking)

So often in the ESC we have these statements, messages and deep meanings of the songs, but when you study the lyrics, they have nothing to do with these at all. Don’t you just love Eurovision!!
