Yes, we know this has already been out for almost a week! And yes, many of y’all probably thought we’d forgotten or, worse, not even noticed. Well sorry for the delay, we were just too absorbed in the amazingness of the whole project. Because Loreen’s “Paper Light (Higher)” is quite simply magnificent.

It’s nearly two years since her last release, but it was worth the wait. Combining luscious strings and piano riffs with pulsating house beats, this sounds retro and completely new all at once. Just like “Euphoria” it stirs simultaneous emotions of melancholy and ecstasy, and demands multiple replays. Unsurprisingly, it’s already amassed over half a million Spotify streams. Still no word on an official video, but judging from Saturday’s Melfest performance, we should expect something ground-breaking.

Andra Chansen viewers witnessed the homecoming of the Queen! Dressed in nothing but trousers, red gloves and a little strategically placed duct tape, she challenged the music-world’s gender stereotypes – it was no coincidence that this all took place on the eve of International Women’s Day. And surely the inclusion of the flamboyant Ukrainian dance act Kazaky was for more than purely entertainment purposes. We wonder if Putin was watching? While the likes of Conchita Wurst and Alexander Rybak peddle beige clones of their respective Eurovision hits, Loreen boldly steps ahead of the crowd. At first i didn’t like it and it was big let down 4 me that my idol and our Queen of Vision Loreen released after so long time since 2013 a song like that as her first single of her upcoming 2nd album..
