Elhaida Dani has been on a Eurovision rocky road but she’s remained resilient throughout. After three intense weeks, we finally have the Albanian entry for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.

Elhaida Dani – “I’m Alive”

“I’m Alive” is composed by Zzap & Chriss with lyrics by Sokol Marsi. There is also an Albanian version of the song, and later there will be an Italian version. In four to five days you’ll be able to purchase the song on iTunes and hear it on Spotify. The video clip has been filmed in Tirana and has been produced by Pro Video Albania.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=55oWvZw3z-c

Elhaida will not be alone on the stage in Vienna. Three backing vocalists will be accompanying Miss Dani. Lindita Halimi, who competed in Festivali i Këngës 53 and ended up third, has translated the “I’m Alive” lyrics into English.

Promo tour

Elhaida Dani will be doing a promotional tour for the Eurovision Song Contest. We already know that she will be in Eurovision in Concert. It’s mostly likely she will also be at the Eurovision London Party and two other countries in Albania’s semi final. More info to come.

The winner, just this.
Eurovision 2015 must be canceled, no chance for the others after this amazing masterpiece of Elhaida. Tirana 2016.
I’m not albanian, i’m swedish, but that’s the truth.

A lovely voice but i have a huge problem with how this song is composed – a big mess. The song is just too tiring, sorry. Elhaid deserves a much better song.

And I’m off message again, I don’t mind this but it sounds rather ordinary to me. Same style and voice littering the charts.

The best song in the competition as of right now, good job Zzak and Chris you put Albania on the map again. This is in my Top 5 for sure, it may be the best song Albania has put forth so far. Good job, Albania! 12 Points from Germany!

Competent song, but no real stand-out. The final will be difficult for Albania.

This song is beautiful from the inside and the outside because there’s a genuine down to earth human empathy and warmth that is conveyed in the soulful singing and in the clip’s storytelling. This is a more demanding song than your average entry this year because it’s not formulaic and doesn’t abide to any characteristic melodic mold. It may not be instantly catchy at first, but that’s part of its charm.

Amaizing voice, music text! Harmonious song! Replayed already five times. Elhaida is simply magical in this song! I just wished she would sing it into Albanian instead.

We need more songs like this in the grand ESC – fresh, modern, quality-wise excellent, super produced & current.

In my opinion, songs that have a similar background are – Sweden, Germany, Norway, Estonia. At this moment, everything else has some kind of “retro”/oldie feeling, not that that is bad, but it’s not “current”.

I like this 🙂 feels a bit 90’s though. It is not a winner, but they should qualify with this and get a nice placing.

She has an amazing voice. The song didn’t make me hit the replay button after the first listen. Until May I’m sure I will listen to it again (unlike Finland or Hungary), and I’ll decide then what I think ;))

I’m so glad Elhaida changed her song, this one is really stunning, it has an international vibe in it, and her vocals shine more than ever. It’s not all about screaming, but showing all she can do with both higher and lower notes. Plus, the song is really catchy, if Sweden sent a song like that, it would be a favourite..
It won’t probably be Tirana 2016, but I really hope she will qualify and end in the left part of the scoreboard, she absolutely deserves that!

I absolutely adored Diell but this song is even better – what a talent, what an amazing voice and what a beautiful lady.
Albania is my biggest favourite to win this year, together with Belgium and Sweden.

And Albania finally made the magic! This sounds like miles better than the Disney-ish ‘Dull’ – or was it ‘Diell’? Whatever. This sounds fresh, and Elhaida’s vocal skills can be appreciated lots more than on her FiK entry. Tons of luck Albania, you defo deserve a spot on the Grand Final!

Such a breath of fresh air …… The video is probably ending violence of women and equal pay rights … Which is meaningful and has finally been brought up publicly thanks to Patricia Arquette and her Oscar winning speach !!!
The Video is very Alicia Keys “SuperWoman” or LeAnn Rimes’s “Everybody’s someone”.
The song is without a doubt very catchy, engaging and contemporary so I cannot even imagine this not qualifying ….. Good Job Albania, we’ll be seeing you in the finals !!!

Wow, I definitely prefer this to Diell (which wasnt too bad either). Nice video too. This definitely has potential in Semifinal1, which I view as the less competitve one (all the good ones are in #2)

I don’t like this song. Better than Diell but still a mix of cacophonus screams without a clear refrain. Just NO.

I really like this one, and I’m not a huge fan of this style of music. I just hope the instrumentals don’t drown her out in Vienna. Well done, Albania, well done.
