One week after winning Selectia Nationala with “De la capat”, Romanian band Voltaj has decided on a bilingual version of the song for Eurovision.
After listening to fans’ reactions on social media on two different translations, the band opted for a mainly Romanian version, with only the last chorus in English, which we think works best. And Voltaj’s frontman Calin Goia confirmed to wiwibloggs that this is the final version, which the band will sing in Vienna.
Seeing as the message is meant for the three million Romanian migrants who had to leave their children behind, keeping the song in Romanian makes the most sense. At the same time, adding an (improved) English chorus at the end will help international audiences of the Eurovision Song Contest understand the message as well. In a nutshell, it is the best possible version.

I think it would do well at Eurovision.
The best thing about this is the very last sentence that stays in Romanian. Brilliant Song hopefully heading for a brilliant result in Vienna.
