Grab your calendar and get ready to book your tickets, y’all! Today BNT, Bulgaria’s state broadcaster, has confirmed that Sofia’s Arena Armeec will host Junior Eurovision 2015 on November 21, 2015. Officials will brand the show as “Bulgaria 2015” rather than “Sofia 2015” in a bid to involve the entrie country. We approve!
The show is provisionally scheduled to start at 19:30 CET (20:30 local time).
Junior Eurovision 2015: Arena Armeec named Host Venue
The Junior Eurovision 2015 host venue can seat up 15,000 spectators. It has previously hosted events including the 2012 Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships and Cirque du Soleil, so it can more than handle Europe’s aspiring young pop stars.
BNT Director General Vyara Ankova takes great pride in hosting the event and showcasing the country.
This is a unique chance for BNT and Bulgaria to host one of the most prestigious music competitions in Europe. Krisia, Hassan and Ibrahim proved that success is possible. We also loved participating in the 2014 event put on by PBS Malta and were very impressed by the renewed energy, commitment and enormous talents of the children. We believe that Bulgaria, as the host country, will be a new platform to young talent from all over Europe while enlightening them to the beauty and traditions of our country.
And Junior Eurovision’s Executive Supervisor Vladislav Yakovlev got all fatherly, promising to make sure all the kiddies have a good time.
We are greatly looking forward to helping BNT Bulgaria in their preparations to host this year’s event. EBU and the Junior Eurovision Steering Group will do our utmost to ensure that all the children and broadcasters who participate will be part of a positive and fun event that gives them time in the spotlight and opportunities for creativity and friendship.
Bulgaria at Junior Eurovision 2014
Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim brought Bulgaria back to Eurovision with a bang. Despite finishing second overall, she actually won the televote by a huge margin. Our in-house jury fell in love with their act. “Dreamy, age-appropriate and carrying a melody that speaks to my senses,” one juror wrote. “This mini trio is bursting with talent, and Krisia their starlet, simply shines.” Another added: “Krisia sings about a Planet of the Children, and she takes us to another world. This is dreamy, moving, and shows off her pitch-perfect vocals. A true talent accompanied by an adorable set of twins.”
