Trijntje Oosterhuis knows how to “Walk Along” — and she also knows how to blow us away! On Friday night, during a performance on RTL Late Night, she had a special surprise for Marco Borsato, one of the biggest artists in The Netherlands and a close friend of Trijntje. Marco, who is known for his amazing duets and for being a juror on The Voice like Trijntje, was celebrating his anniversary. So Trijntje decided to stop by to sing ‘Ken je mij’ (Do you know me?) which reduced him — and everyone else — to tears.
Huub Oosterhuis, Trijntje’s dad, wrote the song, which was released in 2008. (It also provided the name for her CD and DVD of her acoustic concert performance with Leonoard Amuedo, a noted guitarist). She’s sung the song countless times in the past, but poured extra heart and soul into it on Friday.
While singing the song, Marco, his wife, his mother and a lot of other people started to cry — and I understand why. You can’t help but feel something when Trijntje belts this out.

After the show, The Netherlands was all about Trijntje and her performance. Her song reached number one on iTunes afterwards. She took to Facebook to thank all of her fans.
‘Wauw, number one on iTunes with my dad. I had the chance to sing the song ‘Ken je mij’ on RTL Late night last night for @borsato as a surprise. I’ve been singing this song for years . My dad, Huub Oosterhuis, wrote the song and Stijn van der Loo the music. I had so many overwhelming reactions after the show. Thanx a 1000000! Never ever expected number one!

What do you think? Would a song like this suit Trijntje better than ‘Walk Along’ at Eurovision? Or are you loving both styles?
I really really want some beautiful Dutch music to listen to. I’m learning Dutch at the moment so I’d be delighted for another Dutch song in the contest (following on from Ik ben verliefd).
@ Teemo
The Dutch language sounds beautiful and not bad at all! 🙂
To send a song in Vision that would be in dutch would had great potentials if the music and the chorus was truly good…The whole song would get lifted up and the whole package would seem ideal on this case then 🙂
I just discovered that she was part of Total Touch, whose song Somebody Else’s Lover was a huge hit in the 90’s in Romania. I have a newly found soft spot for her! :). Although I will never be able to pronounce her name, to save my life! :))))
What do you guys think of the launguage???
I’m dutch and i think this launguage is great, but not for music! talking yes! singing NOOOO! The Netherlands hopefully will never sing in our own launguage again its terrible :p
I agree with you mario, Walk along is a ok song. in the semi it will be between 13-8 place… i hope we will pass through to the final, if we do we will end up between 27-24 :/
lyrics
”van mijn naaktheid kan jij het hebben” (dutch)
”from my (nakedness) you can take it”
wait whuuut?! xD
Trisha {im calling her with that cool name 🙂 } is big super star in her homeland Holland.. 🙂
Her song *Walk Along* is one of the best songs & my most liked in the Diamond Vision…I have it in my top10…Its my 5th most liked in the 1st semifinal..
But i’m not sure if Trisha will qualify 4 sure to the final though…She has chances to pass but i don’t hold it unfortunately..
Her song reminds me of summer…! <3
The same cool gay vibes with that song *I Surrender* by the group K-Otic! <3 🙂
