One of the quietest, gentlest songs this year is Cyprus’ entry, “One Thing I Should Have Done” by John Karayiannis. It’s nice, but it’s not the sort of thing you’d dance to in a nightclub, right? Well, the Euroclub mix of the song has now been released – and it sounds amazing.

The remix by Pepperoni Mohawkx makes John’s lament over his lost love sound a bit more cheerful. He’s down, but he’s not out. Perhaps John has taken the advice of “Golden Boy” Nadav Guedj, whose song recommends using a night out to get over a broken heart. And with the acoustic guitar replaced by bangin’ synths, any resemblance to “More Than Words” is now a distant memory.

The new version of “One Thing I Should Have Done” comes with its own music video, shot on location in Cyprus, the snowy Slovakian capital Bratislava and Oxford Street in London. For much of the video John is standing on a traffic island in the middle of Oxford Street, cheerfully singing along to the song while the grey London streets erupt in colour. We also find him on a London shopping spree, trying on hats, clothes and even a onesie.

The original video for “One Thing I Should Have Done” is a serious affair in black and white, but the Euroclub version lets John show off his cheeky side. He is completely adorable and it seems like he’d be super fun to hang out with!

It seems that he’s gone nuts. 😛 But, it also looks like he’s having a great time. Of course, this version is not serious, it’s kitsch.

I love the remix. I love the original version too. I would still perform the slow version in Vienna. It is a beautiful song about a break up & regret. I know it does not appeal to the kids but there should be songs for the grown ups too. It deserves to go to the finals.

I like the Eurovision’s version very much. This one I turned off after 30 seconds. I didn’t want to destroy my previous good impression. The remix makes this song too childish. Thanks God it is only for fun.

I do love a good desperate dance song; currently, Cyprus is my #39, but this would take it up quite a few notches.

First time I’ve ever seen anyone so happy to be next to the 73 to Stoke Newington. Then again, whenever I’ve caught that bus, I didn’t have green pulsing lights flashing around me, so clearly I was missing out.

This is horrible. Why is he standing in the middle of the road in London, and looking so happy? I agree with Anne.

I still hate his song, but Cyprus, please send this and I’ll hate it less.

I love tihs one so much! It is really cool! And he actually gets more personality with this version. Really fits his gamer-background.
Cyprus would definitely qualify with this!
