Three weeks ago Nadav Guedj, the winner of The Next Star of Israel, unveiled his Eurovision 2015 song “Golden Boy”. His cheeky song and video made some of you dance, some of you laugh, and some of you cry in horror, but he definitely made you feel something. And now he has brought his energy and pizzaz to a Passover party arranged by Dreck and Arisa, giving us the chance to hear him live. A lot of fans attended the club performance and you can see that he’s really feeling this song — his face and body contract and contort to convey all sorts of expressions. He’s feeling it, but are you?

NADAV GUEDJ – GOLDEN BOY LIVE PERFORMANCE

What do y’all think about his live perfomance? Can Nadav bring Eurovision to Israel in 2016?

Nadav is a nice down-to-earth guy who deserves to do well. I love the song which adds to the diversity of songs in this year’s Eurovision. It is in my Top 10.

@Iberian

Good for you

Well, Leaf, people nowadays tend to glorify youth too much (which is annoying). So I like 40-year-old people very much. And if Nadav looks older than 16 than it’s perfect to me.

@Iberian

I wouldn’t know… . But when someone is 16 and looks like that he might have a case of Benjamin Buttons

So true, Leaf, 40-year-old construction workers are hot and sexy!

He looks like a 40 year old construction worker …… And he is too kitsch, almost zero charisma …….. But the song is fun so I am torn

All the best of luck to ISRAEL this year!.
Nadav is a very nice and down to earth kind of guy, and very mature
(reguardless the funny selfie pictures on his facebook)
He is very talented. He has an amazing voice, and a great charizma.
Hoping that this year he we will sail to the finals, and maybe with a little luck and the love voters we will be in the top ten. it is our time to shine.
my fav song this year – grande amore – il volo – they turly deserve to win this year.

Looking through the pictures in his Instagram account you kinda get the first impression: he’s a typical teenager – selfies (a ridiculous amount of them!), gym, party, tattoos et cetera. But then, there is that amazing voice, that fascinating charisma on stage and those incredible looks: all of that makes him very special. It’s normal boys and girls from all over the world fall in love with him. (And there is a cute dog on a few Instagram-pics, so that makes him a good person as well, he likes animals.) Let’s all vote for him, Israel has to win this… Read more »

I knew I wasn’t the only one who could be falling in love with Nadav I mean that guy can actually strike a chord so well and he’s only 16!!! Israel better make it to the finals this year.

Thanks a lot, Nitzan, that’s another great link to another great video. Just can’t get enough of this guy, he’s addictive. It’s great to hear him speak, even though I can’t understand a single word… Looking for hebrew classes right now. 😉
And thanks, Robyn, I wasn’t too keen on Instagram until now, but these pics of Nadav’s are amazing.
I REALLY hope he gets to the final. Eurovision 2015 is starting to get very interesting now.

Iberian, that’s the best I found:

http://www.mako.co.il/tv-the-next-star/season2-articles/Article-da97e5ec212ab41006.htm

It’s in Hebrew but some is written and you can use Google translate. It’s portraits the evening after Nadav won “The Next Star” and the ticket to Vienna.

Erin – You always have good points but could you be a bit over-analyzing? This song is not perfect but it was made to “get Europe dancing” and that’s what it does. It may work, it may flop, but I think that generally it’s a good choice for ESC 2015.

mawnck – don’t forget that this is nothing like the ESC performance, it’s just a solo performance at a club. I do agree that Israel has the tendency to ruin live shows though, and I hope it won’t happen this time. The singer and song have a good potential.

This is supposed to be his official Facebook page, but it’s anything but… https://www.facebook.com/nadav.guedjnew?fref=ts Where’s the ESC logo or the Eurovision reference? how can anyone who doesn’t read Hebrew get what’s going on?? @Iberian – That’s why Israel fails every year, because there’s no guiding hand on social networks and other media platforms. If his team really had his best interest at heart, they would have created official accounts with paid or volunteer moderators who would have been responsible for creating a buzz around Nadav and make him accessible all over the place. In Israel, when it comes to Eurovision,… Read more »

I have to admit, I’ve fallen in love, a little bit, with Nadav. He’s too sexy. But how come there are now interviews with him to be found on youtube? And he’s not on Twitter neither. I’d like to find out more about him.

@ct – It doesn’t get any better than this…primal basic song instincts. Anything goes in Tel Aviv 2015.

Based on Nitzan’s video, it looks like he’s concentrating a bit too hard on the singing and not enough on the performance. He’s got to own the stage better if he’s trying to pass himself off as the “king of fun”. But more rehearsal should take care of that. He sings pretty well, despite performing under what appear to be really lousy conditions. These videos moved Israel up a notch or two in my estimation. Knowing Israel, they’re probably going to ruin it with their staging, especially if they try to pander to the gay audience. But I hope not.… Read more »

Someone needs to buy Nadav a dictionary of rhymes, because there aren’t any in this song. SERIOUSLY, I LOVE ISRAEL IN EUROVISION ( <3 MEI <3 MORAN <3 DANA) but they need to cut on the not fantastic song writing and It feels wrong without any Hebrew.

That boy surely can sing! Amazing voice, especially at such a young age. I can’t stop humming this melody, great song! A happy song with some special chords and tunes. I’m surely gonna call for it and hope to contribute to 12 points for this from Switzerland 🙂

@ Erin

I had no idea what you were talking about so I went to Youtube to check Omar Adam’s “Tel Aviv”. You can’t be seriously suggesting that “Golden boy” is cornier or more hastily made-up than that was. With lyrics like “You’re my beauty, I’m your beast/welcome to the Middle East” and “Tel-Aviv yahabeebee Tel-Aviv”? C’ mon!

@Nitzan – It is a conscious decision to give Nadav the endorsement Omer Adam got after collaborating with the ‘Arisa’ line in order to turn this song into a gay anthem, because that’s the only ticket it could possibly ride on. You have to be really naive to ignore the subtext! Nadav will probably be joined by 2 chiseled male belly dancers (Did anyone mention Ariel Yekutiel…?) or some scantily clad male acrobats on stage so the connection is clearly made. It also doesn’t come as a surprise that Nadav wants to follow in Omer Adam’s footsteps and that the… Read more »

His voice is so great and he is really charismatic on stage. Israel will do very well this year!

Arisa is a well-known gay party in Israel.

Yeah, I just thought the same; the end with the belly dancer looks great! It’s a fabulous performance. But I didn’t get that: What kind of party was it? Who is Uriel and what is an Arisa party? I wish I could understand hebrew.

Nitzan
Nitzan

Iberian, sounds like nothing important at the beginning, just greetings… I like the end of the video, with the belly dancer (could be a cute choice to add her in Vienna) and those with a good eye can spot Uriel entering the stage, after all it’s an Arisa party.

Great link, Nitzan, thanks a lot, that video does have a better quality indeed. By the way, what does Nadav say in the beginning? He looks so hot, when he smiles and laughs, just before he starts singing.

Nitzan, I totally agree with you. I love your comment and wish everybody could simply enjoy good music, even if it’s a bit cheesy. It’s about fun and party time, there’s nothing wrong with that. I hope Nadav does well, we don’t care about the haters.

Erin I wish I understood what you are talking about. “This has to be the most consciously exploitative attempt at cashing in on someone who has the potential to become a gay icon and a money machine for others to feed off.” What gay icon? what money? This song is not about gays, Nadav is not gay himself and not a natural “gay icon”, and no ESC song is a “potential money machine” in Israel. The song was written by a Eurovision-fanatic gay guy and it’s about Tel Aviv. And oh yeah, it was performed at a gay party (ALL… Read more »

Haters are gonna hate. So sad some people don’t seem to be able to simply ENJOY a bit of music, fun and showtime. Like it or not, this guy can sing. But again: haters are gonna hate.

Someone should call child protection services because Shrek Child is still wet behind his ears. He must be telling himself: “I’m sellin’ bitches pipe dreams and they’re coming for more’ (or that’s what his chaperons from the industry want him to recite). This has to be the most consciously exploitative attempt at cashing in on someone who has the potential to become a gay icon and a money machine for others to feed off. The talent and the artistry can be flushed down the toilet for now as long as the gay card is punched to the fullest. This is… Read more »

Sexiest guy in Eurovision this year by far. Even hotter than Mans… And a nice, little, catchy tune. I love it. Hope it does well, he deserves it. Great live vocals.

@ Hey Eugene buddy 🙂 Yep indeed.. *Golden Boy* of Israel is expected to do very good business in televoting and can even finish on very high position.. The juries even if they won’t possibly might rank it on high place this won’t gonna stop Israel and Nadav to get the ticket 4 the grand final 🙂 Even if it doesn’t turn out that great 4 Israel, still can pass though to the final as 9th or 10th.. If Israel stays out of the semifinal and gets eliminated it will be negative reaction by me as the song IS definitely… Read more »
