Wearing a show-stopping pink-sequinned gown and a matching hat, Serbian singer Bojana Stamenov made a serious impact when she took to the Melkweg stage at Eurovision In Concert. But that was only the beginning.
Bojana might have released versions of “Beauty Never Lies” in different European languages, but she was back to basics with the English version. The young diva showed off her impressive vocal ability, but things really got going when the electronic break came and the room exploded. Bojana ended the performance to rapturous applause, and social media was soon buzzing.
Well I think she tried to do it in a stereotypical German way. Unfortuantely she won’t be well accepted, as we do not perceive the song contest as a schlager one anymore 😉
Anyway she pronounces German pretty good and she sounds like the 60s/70s Schlager stars from Scandinavia (Siw Malmkvist, Gitte Henning….)
The German version is a joke, isn’t it? xD
Well, you know, it was interesting to hear this song with no weird-looking dancers, no teenagers bopping around, no girly romance act, just Bojana standing there singing. The English lyrics still come across as cheesy but not nearly as much as they did in the two music videos. I think Serbia should keep the Eurovision presentation simple with just Bojana on stage and nothing too flashy; the music is nutty enough by itself, it doesn’t need to feel any more ostentatious than it is already. I really like the serbian song but i really dunno about Serbia’s chances in the semifinal.. It might get considered cheesy corny & kitch so it won’t get voted enough to be among the 10 qualifiers 4 the final.. I want Serbia & my dear butterfly Bojana to pass to the big final but ts not only me that will be voting so im worried if she will manage to win both hard tough juries & europeans televoters.. But anyway…Bojana has given to many of us eurofans great impression with her song & videoclip and she is already winner on… Read more »

Wow. She is going to be very strong next month. Normally I want it in the native language but in this case her English version brings it to another level.

One of better performance of last night.
Fabulous performance, she absolutely nails it! I still prefer the Serbian version of the song, but I don’t mind the English one. Still my favorite to win the first semi-final!
