Portugal’s Leonor Andrade has been sailing somewhat under the radar this Eurovision season, getting lost amidst a sea of fan favourites and heavy hitters. Well that’s all changed, as earlier tonight she performed an accoustic version of her entry “Há um mar que nos separa” on Got Talent Portugal. We have one word – stunning!
Accompanied by just a piano, this new interpretation allows Leonor’s vocals to take centre stage. And what a voice! Slowed down and stripped of the grungy facade, she packs a real emotional punch. Latterly she’s joined by the song’s writer, Miguel Gameiro, as they sing the closing verses together. It’s a haunting duet, and leaves us asking if it’s too late for Portugal to send this version instead? Up to now their qualification hopes had been all but written off, could this be a game changer?

I really love this song, I can’t explain why :). It’s in my top 3 this year. Maybe the language, maybe the rhythm, maybe the fact that she is a beautiful girl, I don’t know… I am realistic, it will not make the top 3 in Vienna, but I really hope that she at least makes the final. Go Leonor!
Honestly, i almost forget Portugal is competing this year and all i can do is blame it on RTP and Leonor’s team. The song isn’t half bad (not a winner, but certainly not bad enough to be considered bottom of the table) and the reason why it is flying under the radar is basically due to the absolute lack of news or promotion. Even yesterday’s acoustic performance has been blocked from youtube. Pathetic.

@Just Mario, so you like the sweden song, lol, it is a copy of david guetta, lovers on the sun, at least Portugal take something original, sweden brings a copy and in english, and thats so original, but so original that make me laugh!! Portugal is in my top 5 this year!
I really hope it gets to the final… I think it’s a very good song and it’s very underrated. I am from Spain and I can’t vote in the 2nd semi final (I also would like to vote for Ireland…). Please vote this two countries! I’ll hopefully vote for them in the final.
She is underrated and she is gorgeous…. And basically she is in my top 5 cos of those things !!!!!! BTW the song sounds like some of the old Kelly Clarkson stuff which makes it kinda charming and nostalgic for me, the language is just the cherry on top… I love Portuguese!!!! Forca Portugal

The original version disappointed me due to the main reason of the noisy instruments, but this one is SO STUNNING!!! It shows her clean and pure voice to the public 🙂

I have my doubts if Leonor can carry Portugal to the big final being the first time 4 this achievement after 2010 and half decade..
I have the portuguese entry 17th 4 the 2nd semifinal im my personal ranking..
I do not think that the song is bad and i do not really dislike it 4 the rec..
If Portugal manages to qualify to the final that means that another country will stay out of the final…Like possibly Norway,Israel,Azerbaijan,Czech,Malta,Iceland,Lithuania,Latvia,Montenegro from the countries that i expect them to pass..
I only consider Mans with Sweden 100% qualifier..
I was really, really enjoying it until he joined. Whist it is very gentle, this version has a lot more emotional impact. If you take him out of the equation, I enjoy this version far more than the original.
