On March 22 we asked YOU to start voting for your favourites to win Eurovision 2015 semi final 1. As of 15:40CET on April 21, a total of 60, 271 votes have been cast. The last time we checked in Belgium‘s Loic Nottet and Russia‘s Polina Gagarina were in a neck-and-neck race for victory. The dynamic duo remain out in front on 9549 and 9473 respectively. Unfortunately for Loic and Polina, they are NOT ALONE (hey, Aram Mp3!).
Albania‘s Elhaida Dani and Estonia‘s Elina & Stig have both broken 9000 votes and closed last month’s gap. With Elhaida on 9285 and Elina & Stig on 9235, Albania and Estonia have turned this into a four-horse race to the finish.
There could be a fifth candidate on the horizon too. Georgia‘s Nina Sublatti rounds out your Top 5 of semi final 1 with 7396 votes, or 13% of all votes cast thus far. This warrior is going to war.
The qualifiers from the poll remain the SAME as last update. That means currently Armenia, Greece, Romania, Serbia and the Netherlands should join the Top 5 in the grand final of Eurovision 2015. Belarus, F.Y.R Macedonia, Denmark, Hungary, Finland and Moldova should fail to advance to the grand final as a result.
That can ALL CHANGE though. The Netherlands’ Trijnte Oosterhuis only has a slender 0.15% margin over eleventh place Belarus and the poll will remain open until the eve of Semi Final 1 in May.
Current standings: Semi Final 1 (as of 5 April)
- Belgium: Loïc Nottet with “Rhythm Inside” 15.84% (9,549 votes)
- Russia: Polina Gagarina with “A Million Voices” 15.72% (9,473 votes)
- Albania: Elhaida Dani with “I’m Alive” 15.41% (9,285 votes)
- Estonia: Elina & Stig with “Goodybe to Yesterday” 15.32% (9,235 Votes)
- Georgia: Nina Sublatti with “Warrior” 12.27% (7,396 Votes)
- Armenia: Genealogy with “Face the Shadow” 7.77% (4,681 Votes)
- Greece: Maria-Elena Kyriakou with “One Last Breath”
- Romania: Voltaj with “De La Capat”
- Serbia: Bojana Stamenov with “Beauty Never Lies”
- The Netherlands: Trijntje Oosterhuis with “Walk Along”
- Belarus: Uzari and Maimuna With “Time”
- FYR Macedonia: Daniel Kajmakoski with “Lisja esenski”
- Denmark: Anti Social Media with “The Way You Are”
- Hungary: Boggie with “Wars for Nothing” 0.87% 0.9% (541 votes)
- Finland: Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät with “Aina mun pitää”
- Moldova: Eduard Romanyuta with “I Want Your Love”
Total Votes: 60,271
This poll is open until the eve of the semi-final in May so make sure you vote!
What do you think of the results? Do our readers have it right?

@Nicky: I actually thought the original music to Amber’s “Warrior” made it sound like a Beyoncé song! We don’t want that for Nina, lest she get flagged for it, too! 🙁 I’m glad she and her producers kept it ferocious and menacing, which exemplify the title of the song.
After another 6 days, I just got finished with my 2nd wave of evaluations, for which, as usual, I use 10 criteria. Once I’m done reviewing a performance or video, I don’t look at those scores again until I am done with all of them. For Day 1, some changes in the top 10. Macedonia, Russia and Belarus drop out. Here is what my evaluations look like now: 9.49 Estonia (up 1) 9.48 Hungary (down 1) 9.47 Romania 9.36 Armenia (up 3) 9.31 Albania (new) 9.31 Belgium (up 2) 9.30 Georgia (down 1) 9.28 Serbia (new; replacing the fan video… Read more »
why is Georgia so underrated, the only good warrior in the competition.
Georgia is really powerful LIVE, and Nina is really hot.
Malta MUST be disqualified for stealing Nina’s warrior song
Nina Sublatti the next Beyonce.

Really, Macedonia MUST qualify!!! 🙂 I will be very angry if Armenia, Finland or Belgium will qualify and Macedonia won’t. It’s an amazing song! My #1! 😀 <3
I hope: 1 – Macedonia 2 – Netherlands 3 – Hungary 4 – Romania 5 – Albania 6 – Georgia 7 – Estonia 8 – Belarus 9 – Serbia 10 – Greece 11 – Russia 12 – Armenia 13 – Moldova 14 – Denmark 15 – Belgium 16 – Finland I think: 1 – Estonia 2 – Albania 3 – Russia 4 – Georgia 5 – The Netherlands 6 – Belarus 7 – Greece 8 – Belgium 9 – Romania 10 – Macedonia 11 – Hungary 12 – Serbia 13 – Armenia 14 – Denmark 15 – Moldova 16 –… Read more »
Boogie will qualify becuase she is quiet but will suprise
Macedonia is underestimated he will be another surprise
bojana is a diva
Russia is so overrated in this poll… “A Million Voices” is the cheesiest song of the year.
What I think will happen –
1. Estonia
2. Russia
3. Albania
4. Belgium
5. Greece
6. Belarus
7. Georgia
8. Armenia
9. Romania
10. Netherlands
11. Serbia
12. FYR Macedonia
13. Hungary
14. Denmark
15. Moldova
16. Finland
There are only 5 songs I really liked.
1. Estonia
2. Belgium
3. Albania
4. Romania
5. FYR Macedonia
I’m not a fan of Finland this year, but I hope they qualify.
About the other 10 songs I really don’t care.
If Belarus made it to the final last year with the rubbish that was Cheescake and they don’t make it this year with Time, I will punch someone with a chair.
I think the current top 5+Romania are a lock for the final, and the upset of the semi will be Finland qualifying (well, maybe not so for the bookies).
@OLB I so agree with you, Greece is so underrated, it’s such a shame because she’s got one of the most powerful female ballads this year and it’ll stand out better than others
1. Albania (not necessarily a winner but fan favorite + best starting position = first place) 2. Estonia (still a fan favorite even though they’ve done 0 promo) 3. Russia (for some reason, Russia always does well and I can’t see this breaking that record) 4. Belgium (I’d say he ties Russia for 3rd, maybe even beats them but still not sure) 5. Greece (juries will probably save this one, but being a good song after Finlands terrible song will help) 6. Georgia (televoting will do this lots of favors) 7. Netherlands (probably will tie with Georgia, and it’ll be… Read more »

Why is Greece so underrated this year?
I think either Estonia, Georgia, or Russia will win the semi, but I’m hoping for either Albania, Georgia, or Estonia to win it.

1- Estonia
2- Russia
3- Georgia
4- Albania
5- Belgium

9- Armenia
10- Romania

15- Finland
16- Serbia
Extremely accurate. Though I’d swap the Netherlands for Macedonia or Hungary (or anything that isn’t Finland or Belarus).
These are probably the qualifiers of sf1.
That could very well actually be the top ten in semi-final 1. Personally I would swap out Armenia and Serbia for Denmark and Belarus
I think that top 10 is great and I would be happy with that outcome but this is Eurovision so I doubt it will play out like this – I wouldn’t be too surprised to see Belarus or Moldova qualify due to the Eastern European vote but I would only be happy if they took the place of Greece, Russia or Georgia.
My top 7 that I definitely want through:
1. Albania
2. Estonia.
3. Romania
4. Armenia
5. Netherlands
6. Serbia
7. Belgium
My ranking ( It’s more of a prediction than a personal ranking though )goes somewhat like this: 1. Albania 2.Russia 3. Armenia 4.Georgia 5. Estonia 6. F.Y.R Macedonia 7. Belgium 8. Belerus 9. Romania 10. Surprise, surprise Moldova Non-qualifiers: 11. Serbia 12. Netherlands ( I really want tonswap this with Moldova ) 13. Greece 14. Finland 15. Denmark 16. Hungary ( This is ounce again not my personal opinion but an actual prediction ( I still agree with 9/10 of the qualifiers yet some should be higher and other should be lower ) to make this prediction I used YouTube… Read more »

Belarus should and I expect will in fact qualify! Instead of Serbia, maybe. A great performer will not (and indeed should not) compensate for a poor song
Qualifiers should be (random order): Belgium, Finland, Estonia, Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Greece, Albania, Macedonia and Romania.

This year!! Of cours Albania. My personal Top 5:
1.Albania
2.Norway
3.Italy
4.Sweden
5.Georgia
My Personal Winner : Georgia
My Predicted Winner : Estonia
My actual ranking
1) Georgia
2) Holland
3) Armenia
4) Hungary
5) Albania
6) Estonia
7) Serbia
8) Denmark
9) Belarus
10) Russia
11) Greece
12) FYR
13) Belgium
14) Moldova
15) Romania
16) Finland
Albania! or Belgium would be cool.
My opinion on who should qualify:
#1 Estonia, Greece, Russia, Albania, Romania, Belgium, Belaurs, Georgia, Macedonia, # 10 Netherlands.
Prediction (random order):
Estonia, Russia, Belarus, Greece, Georgia, Serbia, Denmark, Romania, Albania, Belgium.
For me, drop Armenia for Belarus. Then it is fine but I do like Hungary, Macedonia and Finland as well. Maybe drop Greece, Romania and Netherlands then. 🙁
1) Take out Russia, Romania and Serbia
2) Swap them with Belarus, Hungary and Denmark
3) Those are my 10 qualifiers
Rankings may drift a bit based on television performance, but this pretty much nails the qualifiers and battle for the last spots.
belarus should qualify
That Top Five there is like mind-bogglingly sexy <3
All of those five are in my Top Ten for the year, or just outside it.
