In recent months, as Armenia slowly unveiled each of the six artists in its Eurovision 2015 supergroup Genealogy, a lot of y’all worried their act would veer toward hot mess. How can you mix with an Ethiopian musician known for Latin jazz with a coloratura soprano, among others, and expect them to blend? On paper it sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. But guess what: It works!
Yes, we will face the shadow all day long if Genealogy is singing live. On 23 April the group published a rehearsal video that had us gagging for more (even without make-up and fancy costumes). The variety of voices, the live pianist and the nuclear power of their voices give this song the feel of an epic musical. It’s seriously Broadway meets West End in Yerevan. A song like this lives or dies based on the vocals and thankfully its pulse is pump-pump-pumping. (P.S.: We’re loving Tamar’s playful fliration with Vahe. Is there a direct flight between NYC and Addis Ababa?)

The song is genius. The artists are great. The music video was amazing. And the live version is outstanding.
All you Turk-loving sissies should stop licking those Turkish asses for a while. Just keep calm, and face the shadow biatches xD.

People saying it’s a mess are so boring .
Live version is powerful, good luck
That Armenian American girl is so pretty! If the performance is gonna be broadway-ish then I think Armenia can definitely WIN I mean that performance will be GOLD
Armenia’s song is my least favourite this year. It is for me an inevitable hot mess. Why did they even change their song title? If the title of the song has a dark and eerie meaning to it, then make the performance dark and eerie…not having fun. It is all ready a hot mess.
I think this entry is bad and this live version it reminds me how bad it will sound live it is hearting my ears. Its like I want a coffee with sugar…but this coffee is with a mountain of sugar. its just bland average and all over the place.Their voices are good but not sounding great together, especially the opera girl, great voice still in this song it is not fitting. This Armenian entry could flop in the semi final and from 2nd position I will be not shocked if it does.0 points from Romania. Sorry Armenia this year no votes… Read more »
They are actually sounding great together, especially the Tamar/Vahe part!? This gives me hope xd
I am all for the effort but it is just too …….. Talent show musical to me, not commercial enough and I cannot see this being someone’s favorite, It seemed kinda too forced and tight in my opinion… All competent but that is all I hear
@ Then you better watch out so this meterorite won’t come down & land to your house 😛 I would certainly not want the meteorite of last year to crash to my own house though as it would get filled with lethal gasses of homophobia.. 😛 hehe The only flaw that the song has is that it gets too repetetive with the *Don’t Deny* lyric sentence & thats all.. I really do not think that their voices sound messy….Ok we do not know how they gonna actually sound live on stage while performing but i don’t have any negative issue… Read more »
It sounds like a bunch of cats trapped in a box…Armenia is going down like a meteorite this year…
Last year i was not impressed at all with the armenian entry… It was a nice song but was not great though and did not deserve at all to be considered pre contest hot favorite 4 the victory according to the bookies.. And the fact that Aram was despicable figure in Copenhagen & was opening his ‘dirty’ mouth with how many interviews to spread negativity {homophobia too..} really hurt much his chances 4 a better result…GOOD i say…I was glad that this homophobic mean d**che did not win… Our Greek jury did really wise that ranked Aram’s song 12th.. With… Read more »
@ Well…Armenia will deserve to pass to the final with that beautiful song…
Even if it was more difficult 4 Armenians to qualify if they competed to 2nd semifinal then thankfully that they are competing on the 1st one…If their song did not deserve to pass i would have to agree..
Armenia will go to final, only because they are in semifinal with 6 ex soviet countries ( 5 countries can vote for them) and they have France, Belgium, Greece in their semifinal. If they are in second semifinal chance for qualify to final will be much difficult.
Sirusho’s new song is really Diamond! <3 I was really impressed! If only this an actual entry of Armenia in our Vision! <3 I have downloaded & i have put it in my mp3 player! <3 She is really great singer artist! <3 Her previous song *PreGomesh* rocked too! <3 Her Visionary *Qele Qele* is being played in my bar frequently <3 🙂 {Oh…An Armenian girl was working in my bar in 2010 that was accepted in the popular tv Greek show *Next Top Model* of my country Greece…She was even among the lucky finalists girls that entered in the… Read more »
Sure they sound good live, but a lot of singers this year do. Don’t know why their rehearsal is considered so amazing, all they did was sing and sound good.
I always thought this would come across really well live and I’m sure it will qualify!
Essai looks a bit left out in the video..

Really nice song..! 🙂 <3 It might has dropped in my top ranking but i still really like it and i have it in my top15{13th} & as my 7th most liked song in the semifinal.. 🙂 With a great cool performance i truly think that Armenia will qualify.. 🙂 I have seen others eurofans not only to actually dislike it but to even think that this song is horrible & the worst ever…Like give us a break please..! Well a ''bit'' of exaggeration here..! 😛 By no means this song is horrible or bad… I can accept the fact… Read more »
when i watched the video i thought the voices were pre-recorded because it sounds almost like a studio version. they seem to be having lots of fun too. i wish them good luck! <3
This is AMAZING. That ending is just… <3
This ought to be interesting. They are sitting 12th in my overall 2nd evaluation. Anything that they think will help push them into the top 10, they should take advantage of it.
Sounds great!!! 😀
Interesting. I hated the song in the music video. But I really like it live. Weird, no? I guess you’re right that the live vocals make or break this. Thankfully it’s making it for me!
For me one of weak Armenia song at Eurovision. For me worst song from Armenia at Eurovision is song from 2013 and than from 2015.
Best songs for me from Armenia are song from 2009, then song from 2006, 2008, 2007, 2010
WOWOOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!
