The Eurovision Semi Final 2 Odds are narrowing as we close in on Eurovision week in May. All seventeen acts are fighting it out with the bookies to rank within the top ten slots which on the night will see them advance to the Grand Final. So let’s dish and get the T on the Eurovision Semi Final 2 odds.
Sweden’s Måns Zelmerlöw remains the hot favourite for the semi-final, with odds as low as 100/1 for him and his song ‘Heroes’ to qualify for the grand final.
Slovenia‘s Maraaya trail on 1/25, with Norway’s Mørland and Debrah Scarlett tied with Azerbaijan‘s Elnur Huseynov in third on 1/16.
Rounding out the Top 5, Iceland‘s Maria Olafs sits on odds of 1/6. Just outside of the Top 10 Poland‘s Monika Kuszynska is on 3/10, Cyprus‘s John Karayiannis is in seventh with 4/11, Latvia’s Aminata follows closely on 2/5, Lithuania‘s Monika and Vaidas are in ninth at 4/9 and in tenth Malta’s Amber currently stands as the final qualifier on 4/7.
Based on these odds, the following acts will not qualify for the grand final: Israel, Switzerland, Ireland, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Portugal and San Marino.

Semi final 1 results were amazing! Semi 2, though, is much tougher IMO.

I want to be honest. I don’t like Man’s song because it’s not original, but I can’t help looking at him and thinking how hot he is. I know it’s a song contest, but it’s shown on TV, so we can’t pretend that appearance doesn’t matter at all.

My definite qualifiers: AZERBAIJAN: As you can see from their past record, Azerbaijan is one of those countries that simply can’t fail to qualify. Their song is of good quality, juries will love it and they have many voting allies which will help them. I’ve noticed that Israel, Malta, Cyprus and San Marino always give lots of points to Azerbaijan and they are all in this semi-final. Also there are their ex-Soviet friends Latvia and Lithuania. Many strong songs (for me) and some of a really similar genre, or from genres that people tend to make one. Bavarson: we no that you dont like swedens song. But have you herd: Slovenia, She cant sing, its sounds like cra, Australia its like music in elevator, Norway , Albania, Georgien, Russia, and many many more this year. This is a hard Semi-Final! I don’t know who will qualify and who won’t! I think that if Latvia, Israel and Czech Republic won’t qualify, they won’t be at ESC 2016! I really hope that this three countries will qualify! This is the first good song from Latvia since 2012, the first good song from Czech Republic and Israel were robbed in 2013 and 2014 but I hope that they will qualify! I’m frrom Germany and will vote for my favourites!
Eurovision is totally faked. This artificial crap from Sweden is strongly promoted by bookies and jury, and the rivals are weak, that Sweden could win with this crap liked by “experts” and other fascists, but not liked by viewers.

Sweden is unoriginal but a definite IN, I adore Slovenia, Azerbaijan and Norway so that is good !!!! Iceland is very overrated since I have not been able to listen to the whole song, too girly/teen for me. I really can’t see Israel qualifying at all even if it is an up-tempo song in a sea of ballads. Televoters might go for it, but I’m not so sure about the juries to be completely honest. Czech Republic, Portugal, Iceland and Cyprus could go either way depending on the performance. I’d love for Switzerland to qualify, Melanie’s vocal through all her live performances has been consistently strong it could finally be the year her country impresses the juries since vocal capacity is one key element. I have a horrible feeling that Latvia aren’t going to qualify from the Semi’s as I feel that the public won’t connect with the song. I really do hope they qualify though it’s a modern song and Aminata has a fantastic voice! I would also love to see Poland, Ireland and Cyprus qualify as well.
Czech Rep. will definitely qualify in my opinion. Bookies are underestimating that Poland and Germany will prob give it 12s or at least 10s and juries will help them finally qualify so they don’t withdraw again.
I think Iceland is being overrated for the same reason! Sweden and Norway will help it out but I do not think they will get much support outside.
I think this is a very open semi. I think Slovenia, Sweden, Norway and Azerbaijan are definite qualifiers but the other six places are up for grabs.

I both think and hope that the Czech Republic are underrated in the odds.

I really hope Portugal, Latvia and Malta qualify! I can’t really understand why Malta is so low… As far as Israel is concerned, if Mei didn’t make it last year (one of my favourites, but aside from that – a really good song, amazing staging and Mei herself kicked ass), then this rubbish song they are sending this year should definitely stay in the semi!

The semifinal odds are even less reliable than the winning odds. Less people are interested in placing their bets on semi qualifiers than on the winner. The thing with odds is that bookies make the odds based on where the money goes from the public and how the other bookies change their odds. They themselves have no idea of their own, Eurovision is not even their strongest area, it’s just another market to cash in.
