Basim is BACK. Denmark’s contestant from Eurovision 2014 will appear at the Grand Final again – this time presenting the results of the Danish voting.
Basim sang ‘Cliche Love Song’ last year in Copenhagen. DR announced him as their spokesperson for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 this morning.
Basim replaces outgoing spokesperson Sofie Lassen-Kahlke, who presented the Danish votes to Malmö and Copenhagen.
Basim, who placed 9th in last year’s Grand Final, told DR he’s stoked:
“It will be fantastic to present the Danish vote! I am excited to see the show from Austria and hope that Denmark makes the final!”
A year of former Eurovision acts as spokespersons?
Basim is not the only Eurovision act returning. The Netherlands 1998 and 2007 act Edsilia Rombley and Greece’s 2001 and 2005 act Helena Paparizou will all present points from their nations on the night.
Melodifestivalen 2015 third-place act Mariette and German national selection host Barbara Schöneberger will present the points from Germany and Sweden too.
Valentina Monetta will also appear for the fourth consecutive year and will this time present San Marino’s votes.
When Basim reads out Denmark’s twelve points who do you think they will go to? Is he a good choice for spokesperson? Comment below!
Anti Social Media will represent Denmark during Semi-Final 1 on May 19 in Vienna with the song ‘The Way You Are’.
