Over past few days Sweden’s Måns Zelmerlöw and Italy’s Il Volo have been battling for first place in the OGAE poll 2015. Today four more clubs — OGAE Greece, OGAE Iceland, OGAE Slovenia and OGAE Ireland — awarded their points. Il Volo swept the board. That means the trio of Italians have now pushed ahead of Sweden to take the lead.

FYR Macedonia received their first points after OGAE Iceland awarded them one point. Serbia’s Bojana Stamenov also gets her first points today – two points from OGAE Slovenia.

Sweden and Italy have swapped positions, but the make up of the Top 5 remains the same.

Current Top 5 (5 May 2015)

Italy – 188 points

Sweden – 184 points

Estonia – 137 points

Slovenia – 106 points

Norway – 103 points

Didn’t they place Sweden on 1st palce last year?
And they came 3rd.
Italy is way overrated and will probably just be top 10.

I hope or think that Italy will flop because in 2011 France sent an opern voice and in 2013 Croatia sent opern voices (I think it was opern voices)! Also Sweden did it in 2009 and in Finlands national selection this year Opera Skaala got the third place so I think and hope that Italy could really flop this year because Opern voices always flop at Eurovision! If Italy will win Eurovision, it won’t be a good Eurovision in 2016 because Italy isn’t interested in Eurovision! Eurovision is watching by a young audience (14-46 years old here in Germany) which… Read more »

And in Sweden’s pre-show when judging all the songs. Australia is more popular than Italy. I think our 12 points will go to Australia.. We’ll see.

Sweden’s entry is a bit tricky to judge though. The song itself is good but not amazing. But together with the performance it gets amazing. I hope Måns will do a great performance in eurovision as well.

In past we had on TOP 5 on OGAE list countries who on Eurovision eliminated in semifinal or in final they flop in final. 2007 Swtizerland 2nd place in OGAE voting, at Eurovison stay in semifinal 2008 Switzerland another 2 place in OGAE voting, at Eurovision again stay in semifinal, Sweden first in OGAE voting , 18 place in final (12 place in semi) 2009 Sweden 3 rd in OGAE voting, only 21 place in final 2010 Israel 2 nd in OGAE 14 in final, Norway 4 place in OGAE only 20 place in final 2011 Hungary 1 st in… Read more »

I didn’t expect Sweden’s song to be on number #1 top spot though…It is very good song but i think that there are how many other songs that are better than Mans’..

I think & predict that Italy’s song will win the OGAE voting at the end when the whole voting concludes..

I am so happy fot Il volo getting 1 place, they must win, cause the song sounds really powerful with their strong voices, if they will not win i will be disappoint with eurovision and I’m hardly going to watch it then….Other songs sound like baby La La La specially against the background of Il Volo’s voices. At San Remo was really a lot of cool artists and songs, maybe even better than in the Eurovision song contest, but when made Il Volo, once it was clear that they will win, because their VOICES!!!!…you’ll see at Eurovision ..after all still… Read more »

Eugene ESC UK : You are right … with OGAE polls, we should not totally ignore, because the major favorites from the last weeks are doing quiet well this year & I think they will be joined from 2-3 other countries starting from may 11th in Vienna. But as you know it very well most of the major UK bookies will follow the very first rehearsals & if then afterwards the bookies odds are tumbling then we all know that these nations are going to fight for the TOP 5 and of course for the big ESC 2015 victory. tks… Read more »

For you Elhaida fans out there 😀
Albania ended 17th on OGAE poll in 2012
AND
Was 22nd on the odds before the show
She came 5th!!! There’s still hope. 🙂 😀

OGAE is such a hit or miss affair….I think we all need to recall that this time last year, Sweden was running away with the vote (it came 3RD), Austria was only figuring about 5th (where Norway is now…) and the Netherlands were about 15th….they eventually came 2nd.

I think OGAE means that songs that SOME people have been raving about: e.g Albania, Spain, Azerbaijan are not going to really trouble the Top 5 at all….but beyond that it means very little.

I do not get why albania is in the 17 place it has a better position in the esc chart and even in the odds

Eugene ESC UK : 🙂

Well, well, Eugene,
so you know it as well like me, ….
when they start with their first staging & performings
we are going to have maybe some new favorites or at least one or two nations are starting to join the party of ITALY, SWEDEN, etc etc.
Anyway, I will be in Vienna & as a press member hopefully I am going to see the very first impressions of all staging from may 11th, 12,th, 13th etc etc.
So long

Eugene ESC UK The OGAE votes from today were in at 4 pm this afternoon. We all know that you like very much statistics & sometimes you are following the betting odds from the bookies too, isn’t so ? Then tell me why not even one of the big bookmaker companies from UK are changing their odds down for Italy. Since a couple of days the votes from OGAE are arriving and we can see only a battle between Italy & Sweden for the first place, but no movements from the bookies !!!!!! It seems to me that the OGAE… Read more »

The winner of the ESC has been in the OGAE’s top 5 (not necessarily in 1st place) on 6 out of 8 occasions (the only winners that they missed were Dima Bilan and Ell/Niki), so I would say their poll is fairly reliable. Of course that still means nothing, they can totally miss the 2015 winner…

In this online poll of ESC 2015 favourites in a major greek site, Italy tops Sweden by a huge margin 32% to 11%. Australia is a close third followed by Estonia and Spain.
