As the first day of Eurovision rehearsals approaches, Eurovision 2015 participants are packing their wigs and fake eyelashes for Vienna, and dreaming of their first performance on the grand Wiener Stadthalle stage. Ahead of their big day the majority of acts have visited their country’s Austrian Embassy to chat Eurovision and sample sugary goodies from Austria.
MARIA-ELENA KYRIAKOU – GREECE
The Greek participant met with Austrian ambassador Alexander Wojda in Athens, along with “One Last Breath” composers and writers, as well as the backing vocalists and some girls from the record label. Giorgos Kapoutzidis, Greek Eurovision commentator, was also there. Maria-Elena oozed style, and she travelled with the Eurovision-branded taxi through the busy streets of Athens! Nice wheels!
MANS ZELMERLOW – SWEDEN
The Swedish representative found some time to visit the Austrian embassy in Stockholm. He got down on some goulash and apple strudel. Mans was accompanied by the songwriters and composers of “Heroes”, as well as Christer Bjorkman, producer of Melodifesticvalen and head of the Swedish delegation. Messi, his cute dog, was also there! Woof, woof!
Today’s breakfast was lunch at the Austrian embassy in Stockholm. Goulash and Apfel Strudel. Lovely! 🙂 #esc ??? ?????????? ??? ?????????? ? ??????? Måns Zelmerlöw (@manszelmerlow) ????
MELANIE RENE – SWITZERLAND
The Swiss representative found some “Time To Shine” before she sets foot to Vienna. She visited Jürgen Meindl, the Austrian ambassador, in Bern. Melanie also performed an acoustic version of her entry.
PKN – FINLAND
Some days ago, Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät paid a visit to the Austrian embassy in Helsinki, and there was huge media interest. They wished them good luck, and begged for a final interview before the group heads to Vienna.
MØRLAND & DEBRAH SCARLETT – NORWAY
They youg duo from Norway enjoyed drinking and chatting with the Austrian ambassador in Oslo. The Danish and Swiss ambassadors also dropped in, and the atmosphere radiated “Building Bridges” warmth.
“It was this big, between the eyes..” Trying to impress the Austrian ambassador with my spellbindingly captivating tales???? What a genuinely nice guy though! Champagne wasn’t bad either???? Best send off we could have! Thanks Austria! ??? ?????????? ??? ?????????? ? ??????? MØRLAND (@kjetilmorland) ????
EDURNE – SPAIN
The tigeress demonstrated her incredible vocal power for the Austrian ambassador in Madrid. Edurne also performed an acoustic version of “Amanecer”, which sent fans into overdrive on Twitter. Read more about that performance here.
ANTI SOCIAL MEDIA – DENMARK
They may hate social media, but this had to be done — and tweeted and Instagrammed. The Danish representatives visited Ernst-Peter Brezovszky, the Austrian ambassador in Copenhagen. The Olsen Brothers and Emmelie De Forest also attended the “Send-Off Party” to wish the boys well.
LISA ANGELL – FRANCE
Her song suits the Embassy environment perfectly. The French candidate wore black and sang “N’oubliez pas” in front of the Austrian ambassador and journalists. Bling, bling: Just look at those gold mirrors!
I hate this girl!!! She has been copied to Edurne
I love the acoustic version of mélanie rené’s time to shine! The beginning somehow remainds me of last year’s winner 😀
@Oostenrijk, yes you are right. She is an inspiration for people, but for wiwibloggers inspiration is Mans’s leather pants.
@maselniczka, I miss Maria Kuszynska too, everyone ignores her. It’s a shame!
Every Austrian Embassy is holding a reception for the countries’ representatives. Not too sure about Australia though, since Guy Sebastian seems to stick around in Europe.
Elhaida Dhani also posted her reception at the Austrian Embassy in Tirana on her facebook.
@ESCEire
ssh dont say that 😛 According to wiwibloggs, Eurovision is only Sweden, Norway, Italy, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Albania, Latvia, Australia and Malta.
Molly visited the Austrian Embassy.
I suspected before I clicked on the articles which countries would be mentioned. Same 5 or 6 all the time, Wiwibloggs certainly have their favorites, and for a Eurovision news website, I really dont think that should be the case. Being even a little bit unbiased sometimes would be very nice.
Ans Stig and Elina didn’t go to visit the embassy but they had a party on monday with the Austria’s embassador: http://publik.delfi.ee/news/eestilaul2015/fotod-voit-eestisse-elina-ja-stig-said-tana-austria-suursaadikult-euroteele-onne-kaasa?id=71399693

F*ck you wiwi, you lost one fan. I know that you don’t care, but it’s sad.
