Eurovision fever has hit Vienna. By day it’s all go, go, go as the stars run from rehearsals to meet & greets to interviews. But once darkness descends, they get a chance to let their hair down and have some fun. Last night the wiwibloggs team headed to the Eurovision Jam Night at U4 to get in on the action.
All the acts were invited to come and perform with the Eurovision Session Band, but we only spotted two. Estonia’s Elina & Stig were relaxing with their delegation after their first rehearsal on Monday. They’d gone on a Danube cruise earlier in the evening and by the time we met they were enjoying some much deserved down-time.
Romania’s Voltaj were also in the house. With their first rehearsal out of the way, they were keen to let out some steam. They spent the night mingling with the crowd, and seemed much more alive compared to earlier on in the arena.
In the end, they were the only act to “jam” with the house band. Their drummer Oliver Sterian was first up for a rendition of Prince’s Ruth Lorenzo’s “Purple Rain”.
Afterwards, the whole group took to the stage to perform a special English version of their hit song “20”. They even took the time to teach everyone the words. That’s dedication y’all.

Voltaj are great, I hope they make it through!
