Chris: YES María! This was such a huge improvement from her first rehearsal, from a much improved vocal to little details, such as gold effects on her fingers to match the sparkles she throws at the screen. The camera angles also seemed to be much stronger and tighter, with more shots of the floor showing off the detailing there. María generally seemed much happier with this and the reception in the press centre seemed to be much the same.

After Azerbaijan, another performer standing in the middle of the stage with a background of night skies tries to interest us with a mid-tempo mediocrity. Since they’re stuck in the middle of the semi and right before Sweden comes up, this should hurt them both, even though I suspect Iceland might come out better due to the presence of two other scandinavians in this semi.

Why in the world would you bring Hera Bjork of all people to do backing vocals just to dress her in black, shroud her in darkness and put her behind two dudes?!? I can’t really see the similarities to Emmelie apart from the lack of shoes. The songs are very different, the dress is different, and the stage is completely different. You guys do know that Emmelie doesn’t own copyright over singing without shoes, right? It’s been done before. I wasn’t really feeling the Disney fairy princess look before, but I’m bit more into it now, it certainly stands out… Read more »

Female singer with annoying voice + repetitive song is not the best recipe for success and she is particularly grating on those extended notes. The staging is all wrong. To have a chance of doing well, the lightning should have been similar to what she was using in her music video.

It has a lot of similarities to Emmelie de Forest. But at least it’s not a blatant ripoff of Only Teardrops like Ireland last year.

I like this actually less than the national final. The backing vocals actually minimize the power of the chorus. Maybe they’re just too loud. I’m left cold.

Hera’s there! Probably one of the reasons that the performance was that much more amazing.

I seriously don’t get the hype around this song. It is dull, boring, cheap and repetitive, with a range of about 5 notes. The background is beautiful, but her outfit is just a bad copy of Emmelie de Forest. I hope this won’t steal a place in the final from an other, more deserving act of this semi (which btw is extremely strong – at least 13-14 potential qualifyers).
