Chris: A good song with a good performance with a very good singer…but is this really a Eurovision winner? At this point, I’d have to say no. Guy and his team are working it out vocally and have a great connection with each other, but the stage performance is hardly inspiring. It feels a little bit flat, with street lights and a moving road leading Guy in to the city. There’s no real energy and it doesn’t feel as fun as you’d have hoped for a song that makes you want to get up and dance. It feels like a performance you’d see from a contestant on the X Factor.
Australia: Guy Sebastian’s first rehearsal
Padraig: Slick, professional, hollow. Guy’s rehearsals went without a hitch. Choreography and vocals were all great. Staging was good too, and looked expensive, but something about it felt insincere. The background shows the journey to a party. We see empty roads morph into a buzzing city scape. Giant street lights occupy the stage. Is this supposed to make us want to party? Because I’m just thinking why?

I hate when people are so black or white. If you say this song (and not only this Australian entry particularly) is awful or that you don’t like it – please be a bit more precise and try to describe why you don’t like it or why you think it’s not good. I am not a native speaker of English language and certainly make mistakes but at least I try. So my point is: everybody can say “I hate this song” but it seems to be a piece of art to be able to make a statement, why. Peace and… Read more »
Sweden is still the best.. hehe
There’s far too much emphasis on costumes, pyro and visual design. Try listening to the songs without the stage shows. Which one will be worth a musical replay when Eurovision celebrates its 75th birthday? No doubt Australia, Italy or Norway. Sweden’s song will be a one-dimensional coup d’état on the night. Momentarily effective, but essentially a tedious piece of music.
It feels 80s. Its not good
I expected more Australiana. Koalas, Kangaroos, a Sydney Opera House backdrop. I had been looking forward to that.
I don’t give much for betting. I think Sweden probobly also do a bit worse because the performance have been known for 2-3 months now. I have to go back to when I saw it for the first time, catch that feeling. That might hit others who has not seen the performance before.
Now fresh new blood has come into the contest. I think Australia are no winning material so far. Italy, well.. I understand they have a big chance to win this year. A very jury friendly performance and song. And Italy haven’t won in a long time.
I have no problem with it winning and actually like the song but besides the fact that it is being performed by Australia and is a bit of a novelty, how many people really believe this is a top five song?
It’s so random…

You have to see the full video of min 03:00 (as I did) to make any negative or positive conclusions! That’s my very friendly advise for you. I’ll think to make now 2 different bets. One going for AUSTRALIA and secondly going for Italy.
b.r.
Jury will put him first. Televoters in the top 5.
I particularly dislike this song.
His vocals are shaky.
Catchy song. Guy really shows off his charm here. Maybe the 2nd rehearsal will be even better. The hype around Australia’s participation this year has already given them more promo than the other participation countries and going straight to the grand-finals will give them a higher chance of winning. Australia’s a real contender to win this year.
If this song wins in Vienna will be awful winner at least 4 the #1 spot.. Just hella overrated song… At first when i heard it i used to think that this song is cute & nice enough but now i do not like it.. Its not a song that deserves to finish in the top10 even.. I have it even 37th on my top ranking…So that means that its in the bottom 4..! I expect now Australia to win & it will not be really surprising 4 me but at least i will know that it won 4 the… Read more »
That was a great rehearsal – Love the lighting!
He is not going to win televoting thats for sure. But the juries i think will rank him high…very high…
Gawd those lamps are ugly…
Sweden still has the win in the bag..
Song is terrible, voice great, staging weak compared to the other acts :/
He also has a big of an ego, but thats x factor shit probably :/
1/10
Still i think he will get a top 6 spot, cause its Australia and only compete once.
One of my top3 songs, but at first glance this doesn’t look good. Seems like wrong styling to me, dated rather than vintage.
i don’t like the clothes he’s wearing. is he going to the mall?
This is a good song but I find it irritating, it’s all a bit too “ooh, look at me look how cool I am” – which is starting to make me find him irritating which I know is unfounded because I don’t the guy, but that’s just the whole vibe I get. It’ll place well though, I’d say 8-10.
Guy is great but this song is so completely terrible in my opinion. And omg that hat….. are he and The Makemakes gonna start a Deathmatch over best hat at ESC 2015?
This Video is not good enough, because I saw the full lenght of 3:00 min of staging & performing live on screen here in Vienna, it’s fantastic ! BIGGEST POSITIVE REACTONS FROM ALL OF THE PRESS – AUSTRALIA !! Upbeat, Upbeat, Soul & Rythmn, congrats to the Oz’s, it’s great ! The song “Tonight Again” showcases the trademark soulful sound which Guy is renowned for. With a contemporary R&B style bursting with hooks, beats and celebratory lyrics, “Tonight Again” belongs on this Eurovision stage in Vienna and Guy is the perfect artist to deliver a world class performance for Australia… Read more »
