William: There’s something for 80s glam about the opening of this. The stage is totally black except for a spotlight on lead singer Dodo, who sits at the piano as a camera pans around him. We see his guitarist in all-white and his drummer slowly, slowly, slowly beating on the drums. For the first time in a long time Dodo actually seemed to have a pulse: Toward the end he stands up and bounces and really belts this out, bringing some major power to what has felt like a sleepy song until now. During the bridge the LED floor turns into a cauldron of red and orange and yellow fire. It’s appropriate: The Makemakes really brought the heat today! For me this is one of the biggest growers yet.
Austria: The Makemakes’ first rehearsal
Padraig:Â The title of this review is somewhat of a misnomer. Dodo stood up. And that’s where the “energy” ended. Westlife would be proud. Along with Poland and Cyprus, this has to be one of the most dreary songs of the year. It goes nowhere and leaves no lasting impression. It’ll probably do mysteriously well – like Armenia 2013 and Romania 2011 – but I’d rather the song took like its creator’s namesake and became extinct.

I am glad that they did not change too much about it. The singing is excellent and this is going to surprise a lot of people. Top ten is possible and I think it will overtake some of the underwhelming former favourites (am looking at you, Norway and Slovenia!).
I’m not a fan of this at all. There is one part of the song towards the end which is alright but nothing much beyond that…
i…. love this!
I’m not fan at all of Austria’s entry unfortunately…
I was supporting another act to win the Austrian NF actually..
And these guys from MakeMakes band do not look sympathetic & friendly at all…
Just big let down 4 both the song & especially the act of Austria..
I predict that they will not gonna do badly in the voting..
They will score enough points 4 being the host country..
They will be inside the top20 i guess..
Ah this pushes the right nostalgic buttons, a short glimpse of the seventies for the classic rock lovers among us. The juries should love this!
I guess it to come 20-27, it’s quite a nice song 😀
