Malta’s Ambassador to Austria threw a party for Malta’s Eurovision 2015 act Amber at Vienna’s Le Meridien hotel the other night and wiwibloggs made the guest list. This was not a party not to miss, so we hightailed it from the press centre to the five-star hotel, where the champagne flowed all night. The canapes kept us grounded — don’t drink on an empty stomach, people. But Amber’s jazzy performance was the highlight of the evening.
She took to the stage in a Karen Millen monochrome dress to perform jazz standards like “Fly Me To The Moon”, “It Don’t Mean A Thing (If You Ain’t Got That Swing)”, “At Last”, and her Eurovision entry “Warrior”. The Maltese warrior also took time out for wiwibloggs and dished about singing in Maltese and about the potential of singing at Eurovision again in the future.
John Karayiannis from Cyprus and Mélanie René from Switzerland also dropped by. The lovely Mélanie René spoke about her excitement to take the stage in the arena for the first time. All three acts will sing in Semi-Final 2 on Thursday and it is sweet to see their solidarity.
At the end of the night, Amber’s team handed out goodie bags of more delicious chocolate for the guests.
The Maltese have really topped the party game this year!
