Tonight San Marino’s Anita Simoncini and Michele Perniola will give one of the most important performances of their lives, as they try to impress in the semi final two jury show. The microstate qualified for the first time in 2014, so the pressure will be on. But last Thursday they let their hair down, and partied the night away at the San Marino Eurovision party. The guest list included Ralph Siegel, Greta and Sara from the Peppermints (San Marino JESC 2014), and of course wiwibloggs.

We were treated to sets from both “Chain of Lights” singers, a mini Peppermints’ reunion and a super collab featuring all of them. Believe us, these guys are teenage superstars in the making. And they may be in the big league now, but they remained true to their Junior Eurovision roots, singing “O-o-O Sole Intorno a Me” and “Breaking My Heart”.

The next day our William caught up with the duo, and the party was still on their minds. Michele felt it was “great”, with Anita adding that even “the pizza was good” – yes, San Marino gave us pizza! They know how to spoil us. Anita also confirmed that the Peppermints’ reunion wasn’t a one-off, they’re going on tour in the summer and Arianna will support her on the Eurovision stage. Yaas to girl group harmony! They also talk about their first encounter with Italy’s Il Volo and the inspiration behind their staging.
You can watch the full interview below and then watch a selection of their San Marino party performances. Don’t say “NO”!

Anita will probably be back at Eurovision next year, hopefully with the rest of the peppermints and with a better song, minus Michelle. San Marino will be looking for the next Valentina.
