Who needs one Italian Stallion when you can have three? Following their second rehearsal Italy’s Il Volo — that’s Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero — cozied up with wiwiblogger William to discuss their popera number “Grande Amore”. They dish on the women of their dreams, touring, and their chances of winning the Eurovision Song Contest. And just so you know: They are not sharing a single hotel room.
The bookies have tipped Italy as one of the hot favourites on Saturday ever since Il Volo won Sanremo a couple of months back, and their romantic and throughly Italian song “Grande Amore” also won the OGAE fan vote. However, the three guys tell us that they wouldn’t mind not winning — they are in Vienna to have fun and to show Europe and the world the beauty of Italian music. Gianluca points out that, in 60 years of Eurovision, it’s the first time that three young men have brought bel canto. And what a powerful song “Grande Amore” is!
Speaking about amore, we asked the young men who they are singing about, but they say their true love hasn’t come. We put Gianluca on the spot and ask him about his rumoured crush on Armenia’s Tamar Kaprelian. He smizes and claims that they’re just friends. Ah well! But wouldn’t they make a beautiful couple?

Asked what they think of their chances with an opera song, Ignazio is quick to point out that they don’t sing opera. “We don’t have the right age to sing opera,” he says. According to Il Volo, their style is classical music performed in a pop style and pop songs performed in a classical style. “Imagine a mix between three tenors and One Direction,” Ignazio says.
Speaking of style, we also talked with them about fashion. Ignazio admitts that he is the least stylish of the trio, and Gianluca is proud that they will be dressed by Giorgio Armani for the Grand Final. They certainly look dapper in their high fashion suits!
