The build-up to this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Bulgaria is already underway, as Albania’s national final took place last night. But JESC isn’t the only contest heating up. It’s been confirmed that Türkvizyon — the pan-European singing contest for the Turkic community — has decided to launch their own junior version.
The first ever edition of Bala Türkvizyon (Children’s Türkvizyon) will take place in Turkmenistan later this year, most likely in October or November. All competing participants must be aged between 8 to 15, and all entries must be sung in their national language.

Thus far only Kazakhstan has confirmed its participation. They’ll choose their representative on 1 June. Their national selection show, broadcast on Khabar TV from 21:00 CET, will involve a a total of 16 entrants all aged between 8 to 13. The winner will be decided by a combination of jury and televoting.
Looks like they’ve used clips from old Junior Eurovisoin, MGP Nordic (former scandi Junior Eurovision replacement), and old Turkvizyon vids.
Something about this screams “cheep ass contest” or “fan made lies”. I believe the former.
Plus, how’s Turkey gonna manage Turkvizyon, Bala Turkvizyon, Eurovision, and (possible) Junior Eurovision debut?
No Kazahstan to Eurovision, because we have every year that high points from them go to Russia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia,Belarus, Moldova….and maybe 1 or 2 points will go to another countries from ex soviet zone.
Oh, this is a train wreck waiting to happen. Turkvizyon, while a good time, is so disorganized every year. Last year Tuva showed up the night before asking to participate, the had to let three more countries into the final because of voting errors, and we didn’t even have the names of all the confirmed acts until they performed! I enjoy learning about the Turkic peoples across Eurasia, and there were a lot of great songs last year, but I think they should wait to throw spin off contests until they get the main one under control.
