Shortly after Aliona Moon released her comeback song “Loc pentru dragoste”, fellow Moldovan and Eurovision 2012 singer Pasha Parfeny has returned with “Chisinau – Verona”, a deceivingly playful break-up song.

Just like Aliona, Pasha released the song on his birthday. The Moldovan hunk turned 29 on the 30th of May.

“Chisinau – Verona” tells the story of a Moldovan man whose girlfriend broke up with him, leaving him with the piano, the bike and the cat, and flew to Italy. It is a too familiar story for many of Pasha’s co-nationals, whose dear ones are forced to leave the poor Eastern-European country for a better life in the West. However, Pasha manages to make it sound like a happy song, which only adds layers of sad if you understand the lyrics:

When you were at home with me
I would sing about your beauty
What more could you want from a simple Moldovan guy
With a piano and a cat?

Aw.

You might have noticed that the backing vocals are provided by Aliona Moon, who shared the Eurovision stage with Pasha Parfeny both in 2012 (as a backing singer on “Lautar”) and in 2013 (as the singer of “O mie”, while songwriter Pasha was playing the piano). We are glad to see these two continuing their collaboration. Who knows, perhaps a duet could be in the works in the future? Apart from their succesful Eurovision bids, they have certainly proved to have musical chemistry on “Aleluia” a couple of years ago. After Moldova failed to qualify for the Grand Final two years in a row, maybe it’s not a bad idea to give these two another chance as a duo.

What do you think about the “Lautar” singer’s cute breakup song? And what about the prospect of Aliona and Pasha working together for Moldova at Eurovision again?

Pasha and Aliona need to return to Eurovision… ok, I need them to return, with a super powerful romantic ballad or a crazy joyful dance song

Capul sus, cu zambetul pe buze, tot inainte, dragilor. O placere sa va aud, mai ales cantand in romaneste.
Aliona&Pasha duet might be a solution for Moldova in Eurovision 2016 contest.

Lautar is one of my all time favourite ESC songs.
Pasha is awesome & I would love him to represent Moldova in 2016.
He should be a solo act.

Oh i really like Pasha <3 🙂 And he is very hot babe <3 🙂 His song was cute…Nice effort 4 a non visionary entry… 🙂 Not all the songs can be really good or great people.. This song is just ok & has its own special purpose 🙂 Would prefer Pasha's song *Maricica* to represent Moldovia in the Diamond Vision of Vienna instead of this rich boy Edward that he only won because of his f***ing money! And Pasha's song might had qualified to the final instead.. Its performance would either make it or break but i want to… Read more »
