Nina Sublatti made a big impression on our readers in the run-up to Eurovision and at the actual contest itself. She won our poll for best music video with her minimalist production about female warriors. And then, following the shock and awe of her rehearsals in Vienna, she won our poll for best rehearsal of semi final 1. Well guess what: She’s done it again! After counting 12,056 votes, we can now reveal that our readers think Nina Sublatti was the best female vocalist at Eurovision 2015. She earned 2,700, votes or around 22%. Once again this warrior slays.
Just below Nina is Albania’s Elhaida Dani. Although fans questioned her vocals during the contest, her natural power and control still put her miles above many of her competitors. It’s no wonder she came ninth with televoters. She earned 1,467 votes, or about 12%.
In third place is Spain’s Edurne, who our readers previously named their favourite automatic qualifier. After a shaky first live performance, Edurne built herself up and gave nothing but pitch perfect vocals during rehearsals. She earned 905 votes, or about 7.5% of those cast.
Greece’s Maria Elena Kyriakou and Russia’s Polina Gagarina round out the Top 5. Who was your favourite?

Esto es un premio de consolacion para ella, creo que ella esta en un hospital, pues por culpa de la maquina de humo se le administra OXIGENO por litro.
nina i loveeeeeeeeeeeeee youu kisses from austria
Elhaida was simply bad as an vocalist. I’m glad that the jury noticed that too. I restores the faith in the Jury’s. For me the number one vocalist was Trijntje without a doubt. It was a shame the vocals were overshadowed by all the commotion about the dress. That was so not music worthy.
I’m so sorry, despite the music of Georgia be powerful, it is impossible to evaluate the voice of Nina. The song she sang only had more work on the breath, nothing much forced the voice and the music is very repetitive. But I must admit I like this song, because Nina was very well Eurovision!
Maybe the best female singer for me is Greece and France!
Agree with Devin, in that “overrun by tone-deaf people” is not the same thing as “hacked”.
@Briekimchi – Actually, Polina was pretty spotless in her notes. She was emotional which you could tell at times when her voice shook, but she was not out of tune at any point. I have nothing against Georgia and I think Nina did a great job, but she was not the best vocalist and there’s no way for us to know because her song did not require complex vocals (unlike France, Latvia)
Also, I don’t believe that the poll is being hacked. If people like her singing voice, they like it. ????????????????????
I think Nina should win 2 other awards: 1. Best dressed 2. Most improved I remember right up until Georgia’s 2pm selection process on 14/1/15, I was hyping this Warrior up so much. In school, at home, in the car park, EVERYWHERE. But I only did that because I had a lot of faith that she had the power to win Eurovision 2015. Also, I nearly took part in a video for supporting Nina. I was going to say “Support Georgia” in Swedish. I was the only non Georgian to be involved. But I pulled out as a word of… Read more »
And again, these polls are hijacked by Georgians and Albanians… How exactly is Nina Sublatti a good vocalist?! And Elhaida, as good as she was in the studio version of her song, sounded dreadful when she sang it live. This result is ridiculous.
Even though no one really liked her song, I don’t think we can fault Melanie Rene’s vocals to be fair. Even Czech Republic’s Marta Jandová had a great voice too!
These comments! Polina really struggled with her vocals on both performances, often sounding out of breath or getting her notes wrong. Nina, on the other hand, sang her song perfectly both times.
THIS IS WHY WE ****NEED**** THE JURIES. GOOD LORD, PEOPLE!
I think polina and Aminata were the best.
I think this poll is an illustration why “televotes” does not always work. I think wiwi needs to implement a system similar to eurovision 50/50 split voting. Come on Albania 2nd? I love the song, but she was clearly out of tune most of the time. Her mid-low range is super weak. I can’t believe Elhiada won The Voice. When it comes to voice, France, Latvia and Italy take this one home.
HAHAHAH you must be kidding.
Seriously, Nina doesn’t have a great voice. Elhaida sang out of tune during the whole performance. Edurne couldn’t hold the key sometimes, too.
Does this people have ears?
The best female vocalists of this year were Elina Born and Polina Gagarina. No doubts!
Seriously?? Georgia first??
too much Albanians and Georgiands
Elhaida 2nd? Were we all watching the same performance?
Latvia and Georgia were screeching – best vocalists they were not.
Albania second?!?! Lol okay… cause she sound so strong on the night didn’t she…
?_?
Elhaida and Edurne were unfortunate.
Maria Elena and Amber needs more recognition due to their strong vocals.
Polina and Aminata were amazing as usual.
Bojana and Nina are given to be the fans’ favorites.
Lol Elhaida should be last, too bad because I kinda liked her song.
Polina was vocally one of the strongest for me! Also really like Aminata and Ingaaaa <3
I really think all 28 were amazing! But my absolute favorites have to be: Elhaida (she reminds me of Kelly Clarkson, both in her looks and voice), Maria Elena (Jeez, this girl could hit those high notes. Even if you aren’t a fan of her song, you have to appreciate her vocal abilities), Marjetka (Just the uniqueness of her voice is a breath of fresh air), Inga (she’s beautiful and so is her voice), Molly (her vulnerability is just endearing!), and Elina and Polina (both for wearing their heart on their sleeve; when they sang it was like they truely… Read more »
1. Georgia – Nina Sublatti 22.4% (2,700 votes)

Yes, no vote rigging XD
Hahahaha Elhaida second? Can’t take this poll seriously anymore xD.
Bojana, Aminata, Polina! Nina and Elhaida were sooooo bad!
Elhaida and Edurne should be nowhere near the top. Their vocals were both very poor live.
For me, it’s very close between Aminata, Bojana and Polina, in that order. Regardless of how I felt about the songs and stage performance, these were the strongest live, vocally speaking.
A que gana el top model
Aminata Savadogo had the best vocals and her performance was mesmerising. Nina had good vocals too but Aminata just slays. Elhaida was very disappointing in the semi final but improved a lot in the final
#Dare To Be Nina Sublatti <3 😉
The title 4 her debut album does reveals how diva & star Nina feels like 😉
She might succeeded just only a poor 11th place unfortunately but at least she won this prize on the poll here 🙂
Nina slayage <3
4 me Nina had the #1 best song indeed in this Vision but 4 me the best female vocalist is Polina..
She’s got a painfully baaad english! And who voted??
This result is obviously a case of a lot of Georgians and Albanians finding these polls. Nina was good, but the best? and by such a margin. Elhaida was just awful in my opinion. The rest of the results seem fair enough, especially towards the bottom.
