Every year the men of Eurovision wow millions of viewers with their vocals and choreography. But once they leave the stage they have even more work to do. That’s because the race to win Eurovision’s Next Top Male Model—the premier online modeling contest for men competing at the Eurovision Song Contest—continues long after the cameras stop rolling. The dream of winning the title compels them to keep pumping iron and drinking protein shakes. The strongest contenders have to deal with the ever-present paparazzi and bloggers who stalk them in search of that elusive shirtless pic.
This year we’ve faced an extra difficult task separating the men from the boys. On April 4 thirty-nine mostly attractive men entered the Top Model House. Along the way we had to say goodbye to 23 of them. Denmark’s Nikolaj Toth was more concerned about taking lewd selfies than he was about mastering his angles. And the UK’s Alex Larke preferred wearing a garish LED-lit suit to slipping into one made by Armani. On May 20, sixteen men advanced to the finals. Now, after counting 52,773 votes in the semi-finals and another 22,755 votes in the final, we can finally announce that Italy’s Gianluca Ginoble is Eurovision’s Next Top Male Model 2015.
But today we don’t just celebrate Gianluca. Armenia’s Essaï and Italy’s Ignazio Boschetto, our first and second runner-up, have each earned a place in the Top Model Hall of Fame. They made a good run and have issued a statement that they are stars to watch. Gianluca and Ignazio are the first Italians to enter the Top Model Hall of Fame since Marco Mengoni finished as second runner-up in 2013. Essaï is the first Armenian male to make our hall of fame, though Eva Rivas and Tamar Kaprelian have done so for Armenia’s women.

Winner’s Portfolio: Gianluca Ginoble
The Winner: Gianluca Ginoble
Gianluca knows how to work his angles. Telegenic, photogenic, and always looking for the light, he stares through the camera and into your soul. Just check out his eyes on stage in Vienna. This is sex face, y’all.
He demonstrated this again following our interview at Eurovision 2015. When it was time to take a selfie, Gianluca happily grabbed our phone and stretched his worked-out arm. His beard added some delicious scruff to the overly-manicured world of Eurovision.
Gianluca promised to give the world his “Grande Amore”, and our readers have taken up the offer. This Italian Stallion is ready to gallop from the Eurovision stage to the runway. Gianluca: You’ve got the muscle to support the immense weight of this title. Now carry it into the world and make us proud!
First Runner-Up: Essaï
When Armenian television sought a European representative for their international group Genealogy, they looked to France and Essaï Altounian. We instantly went oo la la! The studly Armenian-French singer combines the soul of Armenia with the sex appeal of France. In an interview with wiwibloggs he said that creativity burns inside him and that he just has to share it. We’re ready to feel your heat any day of the week.
From the interview room to the red carpet, he brings style and class and a killer accent. Essaï, should Gianluca be unable to fulfill his duties as Eurovision’s Next Top Male Model 2015, we know what you have what it takes to fill his high fashion shoes. Merci bien and à bientôt.
Second Runner-Up: Ignazio Boschetto
Ignazio Boschetto is third in our search, but he may be tops when it comes to personality. The tallest of the three members of Il Volo, he brings heavyweight humour and fun to the table. This is how he reacted when he learned that he was in fourth position at the end of the Eurovision’s Next Top Male Model semi-finals.
Having already arrived and made a name for himself globally, Ignazio can unwind and kick back with the people. He was one of the most laidback contestants at Eurovision 2015. In a field of self-important pop stars, his down-to-earth realness was a breath of fresh air. Ignazio: Remember who you are and you’ll go far. The world is your oyster and baby, it’s time to eat!
