Softengine can do no wrong. In “Yellow House” they explored how memories of failed love can hold us captive. With their latest single “All About You & I”, they take that theme in reverse to explore how burgeoning love drives us forward. What seems at first like a romantic plea ultimately comes off as a celebratory love letter, nodding to how enamoured lovers in Finland spend their summer: “Let me take you to a theme park…across the yard, ride the ferris wheel in the moonlight, tonight it will be all about you and I.”

Like always, Topi’s vocals are on point and the band’s sound is instantly recognizable. Fans of their past singles “Yellow House” and “The Sirens” will get this from the first note — not just in the very catchy chorus. But there is progression: the single carries more electronic elements.

The band has simultaneously released their music video. In typical Softengine fashion, it takes place in an empty house with Topi singing in one room while the others bang on their instruments alone. In the end they all come together for the last chorus. It’s a good ending: we like this band together.
