At Eurovision 2010 Alyosha represented Ukraine with the song “Sweet People”. She sang into a super-charged wind machine and finished a very respectable 10th. Now she’s back with a new Russian-language single called “Moyo Serdce” (My Heart). It’s already #1 on most of the Ukrainian music charts!
The lyrics are fab. It’s all about love and the desire to make things right when they’ve gone so wrong. “How the sea forgives sand, I will dissolve in the depth of your eyes”; “Just like the moon I will disappear by morning, leaving just a light on your lips”. Content-wise, Alyosha’s pain reminds of Estonia’s Elina in “Goodbye to Yesterday”.
The music video, which brings that story to life, is sooo worth watching. You see both a conflicted relationship and a barely-dressed Alyosha. But she’s much more than a pretty face: Alyosha is one of the authors of the music and the lyrics.

I like Alyosha so much, but i’m tired of listening to Ukrainian songs of her. Sweet people was an amazing entry and desurved the top 10. Ukrainian launguage isn’t stupid, but i can’t connect with the song if i can’t understand the song.
Alyosha is one of the best artists in Ukraine. Her voice is absoulutely amazing. This is really good song. I hope she will come back to ESC someday.
