Turn-up the wind-machines. Fetch the glitter. Sound the trumpets and blast some “Te Deum”. Let the wiwivision 2015 grand final commence! Two weeks ago we started with 40 entries. The country list was the same as at Eurovision 2015, but the acts and songs were chosen by the wiwibloggs team. Seven got an automatic pass to the final, while the remaining 33 were whittled down to 20 over the course of two semi-finals. However, there can only be one winner, and the time has come for us to choose ours!

wiwivision 2015 trailer

Semi-finals

The victor will be determined by a 50/50 split between readers and the Wiwi Jury. For more details on the voting rules and song selection criteria, click HERE.

You can listen to all 27 finalists below. This isn’t a tv show, so we’ve decided to move away from the producer-led running order favoured by the EBU. The draw is completely random. Obviously, y’all can ignore it and pick and choose who you want to hear first. It’s up to you!

Once you’re ready, vote in our poll.

Never mind. I spotted the Buzludzha Monument (Bulgaria) on the Web. Prime example of one of yesterday’s tomorrows, now just another relic. Kensington chose well. After hearing 4 of their songs, methinks they should seriously consider Eurovision 2016, to take the Dutch in a new direction with their indie-power-rock, after losing what they gained in 2013 and ’14.

With regard to the Dutch video, I have seen that place before, in a movie or in another video. What is this place where Kensington shot this video?

It was hard to judge these mostly “radio” songs, some of which have been played on Australian radio. Would they be good live? Would their staging work? What would they wear? Anyway, here is my playlist – with love from Australia. 1. Cyprus 2. Sweden 3. Poland 4. Switzerland 5. Germany 6. Greece 7. Ireland 8. The Netherlands 9. Australia 10. Latvia 11. Georgia 12. Australia.. its the incredible Dami Im

My 3 favourites are:
1 Australia
2 Greece
3 Lithuania

The Australian entry is like the wildcard in ESC and the song is good but the singer is great and so unexpected to be from Australia. I had a look for Dami Im and she is Australian but born in Korea. What a great voice, I found another song she did before Gladiator called Super Love and it is just amazing, if it was entered here it would win hands down, but it was released just before July 2014.

Lijana :- Don’t forget the Wiwi jury also have to vote and rank all the songs from 1 to 27, it’s 50:50, so they should sort out any mass voting and it will be so obvious as it usually is. It’s just for fun but some maybe desperate to win for some reason I don’t understand? Australia :- “Gladiator” was released in August 2014 and peaked at No.11 in Australia. The video has had 1,535,126 views. Ireland :- “Love is a drug” was released in April 2015 and peaked at No.66 in Ireland and 55 in the UK. The video… Read more »

My bad. That last score was 9.34 for Greece. I slept on that one after typing the score for Moldova (and my comment thereafter). Nonetheless, Demy from Greece was my #10.

If Australia or Ireland wins this, Im done. yeah, the songs are somewhat good but its going to be unfair if a song wins due to “mass voting”.

Here I go again. All 27 in one pass; 5 criteria for the audio versions only (because some of these songs don’t have music videos). Here are my top 10:

9.62 Norway
9.50 Australia (imagine Dami battling Nina Sublatti with this song, had it been released a month later for eligibility)
9.42 Austria
9.42 Ireland
9.42 Belgium
9.42 Spain
9.40 Hungary
9.38 Netherlands
9.36 Moldova (they should have sent Nicoleta instead)
9.36 Greece
