In matters of love some people suffer as a result of other’s good fortune. In “Ime Moje”, which literally translates as “My Name” in English, Jelena Tomasevic explores one example: a woman watching her beloved marry someone else. The touching ballad comes from Jelena’s upcoming LP entitled “Drugi”. Tomasevic’s vocal delivery tugs on the heartstrings, as does her emotional delivery in the compelling music video.

The video features cameos from famous Serbian actors Nina Jankovic, Dejan Jelic and Ana Marija Danijel. Collectively, they play their parts to perfection, allowing the narrative to take flight. In some scenes, Jelena belts the song from the balcony. In others, she sings in full view of the actors as the storyline unfolds.

Like a lot of music from Eurovision alums in Serbia, “Ime Moje” captures a universal mood, but manages to retain its authentic local flavour.

Back in 2008, Jelena Tomasevic represented Serbia at the 53rd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in her home city, Belgrade. “Oro”, which was penned by Zelko Joksimovic, had magic sprinkled all over it, and gave Serbia a respectable Top 10 finish in a year with really polished entries.

“IME MOJE” LYRICS TRANSLATION / Jelena Tomasevic

Set sail to all over the world,
repress me in pocket with silence
and let that other one loves you like i do
some other that dont have nor lands not roots.

Quietly, quietly, that she dont hear you
my name, love me
and when you hold it against the God
you can’t to not love me.

Life is hurting like it’s not mine,
my name, be better to her
but when you admit everything to yourself,
only I am there for you,
ime moje.

Ime moje

Quietly, quietly, that she won’t hear you
my name, love me
and when you hold it against the God
you can’t not love me.

Life is hurting like it’s not mine,
my name, be better for her
but when you admit to yourself,
only I am there for you,
ime moje.

There is a mistake in this article, this song comes from her newest album ‘Ime Moje’, you can check it on her youtube channel, not from LP ‘Drugi’

“That other serbian hot babe Aleksa Jeli? that participated in the serbian NF this year with Bojana must be gay 4 sure..” Yes, Aleksa Jelic has admitted he is gay. He is not shy or in the closet about it. But he was done wrong for the competition to be in Eurovision 2015. He learned, after he performed and lost, that his song was actually several years old. So he believes was never meant to win in the first place – just added to make it look like a 3-way competition and as a the token male. He was so… Read more »

@ Debanito
Well i really like this nickname as well <3
But because it might be too long & combining it with the fact that i post multiple comments might turn people off that it has too many words other than just *Mario* or *MarioVision*..
I try to have my nickname as short as *Mario* with the exceptions being that i use my nickname to add headlines with multiple words on many occasions..

But really thank you…You are very cool person & i really like you.. <3

I’ma sucker for Balkan ballads ever since I listened to almost every Marija Serifovic (2007 winner) and Milan Stanklovic (2010 rep) and I love Jelena’s emotional delivery in this song. It never sits stale in one boring spot and goes from indifferent and sad to being in reflective pain.

Simply fantastic! Refined, elegant, powerful! It showcases Serbian off to a tea! Jelena is such a strong, emotive performer who can encase any feeling into a song with unrivalled success, in her native Serbia! Ime Moje is an instant classic! Capable of standing alone in the Serbian music scene. Jelena, as always is shining bright throughout this! I would love to see her return to Eurovision with a song like this. :). With Serbia’s surprise 10th finish at Eurovision 2015, I think they could do even better if they stick to what they do best: emotive Balkan ballads, like Ime… Read more »

Mario you are funny.
This is a treat for you. A new song by a good-looking Serbian guy who is (rumored to be) gay. (Though some Serbs complain his songs are mostly Greek tunes rewritten in Serbian):

Ok….. I think that i’m gonna stop posting my comments all together at once in row.. It seems too much for others reading them & seeing my different headlines with many words each one of them…And I like to change my headlines 4 the record.. At least i’m gonna stop doing that…Posting many comments in row back to back.. I’m gonna spread them having them mixed with the other users’ comments so it won’t seem the same too much over the top for other readers members here.. I don’t feel really ok with that & i want to change my… Read more »

I thought the album was titled “Ime Moje” as the song.
Anyhow, it also has a more beautiful song, IMO, called “Da mi je da mi se vrati” which was composed and written by Sergej ?etkovi?, who was Montenegro’s Eurovision representative in 2014.
This is the song he wrote for her:

Nole Novak Djokovic just ruled in Wimbledon yesterday <3 :))
He managed to win one more grand slam trophy <3 :))
Now with his 9th won trophy he has over the half of the 17 trophies that the legendary Roger Federer has won :))

He is definitely the #1 most famous Serbian in the world of all times <3 :))

*Beauty Never Lies* was GreAtY song! <3 One of my most favorite songs on this edition! <3
Bojana was amazing & really adorable <3 One of my most favorite acts in Vision 2015.. <3
I even liked Bojana's song more than the winning *Molitva*…Although i really like the serbian winner song of 2007..

Serbian language sounds beautiful <3
One of the limited exceptions of the rule that it will be ok 4 me to hear a ballad like that being singed in the national language of Serbia <3

What a lovely song…I had a really nice time listening to that <3 🙂
I feel good now 🙂
