Romania’s Ovi and Paula Seling have resumed their collaboration and released a new and improved version of “She’s After My Piano“, the Belgian national selection song that became a major hit last year.

The song is a revamped version of the duet lifted from Ovi’s 2014 album “A Bit Of Pop Won’t Hurt Anyone”. Aimed at the Romanian market, “S.A.M.P.” features a new instrumental, an overall more sophisticated sound and, most interestingly, drops the names of the two singers, keeping just their initials – OPS. According to Ovi’s Facebook page, the two have signed a contract with Global Records under this new name.

Seeing as 2 Fabiola’s version of “She’s After My Piano” was such a huge commercial hit in Belgium, getting certified gold despite not making the final of Eurosong, it will be interesting to see whether Paula and Ovi’s latest attempt to ride the Romanian radiowaves with “S.A.M.P.” this summer will be as successful.

2 Fabiola feat. Loredana – “She’s After My Piano”

Paula Seling and Ovi – “She’s After My Piano” (album version)

While the song has all the ingredients to become a major hit in Romania, it would mark a first for the Eurovision duo, who is more popular abroad than in Romania. What do you think? Is “S.A.M.P.” what they need to succeed internally as well?
