RTVSLO, Slovenia’s state broadcaster, has today announced that it will stage a “Mini EMA” to find its contestant for Junior Eurovision 2015. That’s right: Slovenia will take the popular EMA national selection used to find its adult Eurovision singer and apply it to the children. We’re totally cool with that. After all, EMA gave us early Eurovision 2015 favourites Maraaya!

A total of six songs will compete in the contest, divided into two semi finals. A three-person jury will select the winner of each semi, who will proceed to the final. Televoters will decide which of the two finalists deserves to sing in Sofia at Junior Eurovision 2015.
The application to participate will be online until 31 August at midnight and is available here.

The competition may be miniature, but the talent is definitely going to be supersized. Last year Ula Lozar blew us away with her soulful vocals and gorgeous ballad “Nisi Sam,” which ended in 12th place. The placing doesn’t matter: She was amazing.
