The Junior Eurovision 2015 national selection period is heating up, and no more so than in host country Bulgaria. Yesterday BNT – the country’s national broadcaster – revealed on Twitter that they received over 1,000 applications for the upcoming national selection. Everyone wants to follow in the footsteps of Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim.

The application period ended on July 23rd, and now a group of music professionals will dig through all the submissions in order to find a worthy successor. Castings and a number of heats, followed by the grand final on Slavi’s Show, will decide who is going to represent the country on home soil.

Just like TVM of Malta did last month, the national selection will only choose the singer. The song for the winner will be selected internally by BNT in collaboration with a private broadcaster bTV — yes, the one responsible for Bulgaria’s Junior Eurovision comeback last year.

More info will be revealed very soon – so keep your eyelids open.

Excited? Who do you think should represent Bulgaria? Tell us your suggestion in the comments section below.

1,000 submissions. Damn. That’s more than some countries get for the adult Eurovision. I hope Bulgaria can find someone good, Krisia & the twins will be hard to follow.
