This year will mark the 54th edition of the Albania’s Festivali i Këngës, the traditional music festival that has been used to choose Albania’s Eurovision contestant every year since the country’s ESC debut in 2004.

On 9 August RTSH, Albania’s national broadcaster, announced the submission dates for this year’s contest. It will be accepting songs from the 29th to the 30th of September, which is earlier than in previous years. Perhaps Elhaida Dani’s trip to the Eurovision final has made them hungry for a win?

Interestingly, Albania has not yet confirmed its participation for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm. Even so, this advertisement for FiK suggests they will be at the party.

FiK is good, but it is just far too outdated.

Albania has a lot of highly prestigious music festivals – Top Fest, Kenga Magjike and FiK. RTSH should just create a new NS, invite the Top 3 songs from each festival plus a wildcard, giving them 10-song national final. That way each year, you’re guaranteed a wide range of songs, and the public can decide the Eurovision song.

@ Well they might have just 2 days period 4 the submission of the songs in Festivali Kenges but they are already started to record the songs 4 months now….Even before the Vision of Vienna…They are not waiting 4 the last moment to make the songs…That’s why the deadline is just from 29th to 30th September that short..
Because if they gave them just 2 days only it wouldn’t make sense then of course..

I wouldn’t say this means anything, but the fact that they’re using “I’m Alive” rather than “Diell” in promos suggests that Albania are pretty darn well confirmed! 😀

I don’t think Albania will ever win Eurovision if they keep up this national final.

No they should use that Kenga Majike (I don’t know how to spell it) show. If they’re using FIK then they should internally select a song because this years song was AMAZING even if the live was dodgy.

@fikri

You’re saying it as if Albania switches the song every single year after their Festival, when they’ve only completely changed the song once (in recent memory) (not including times they simply changed the song’s language).

does it matter whether they do it early or not if they’re going to change the song next year lmao

Well i wonder if Albania can win next year in the Vision of 2016.. It is just very unlikely in my book BUT you never know what can happen to our so UNpredictable Vision.. 🙂 But at least if it turns just GreAtY 4 Albanians they can score a top10 result…Or a top5…I think that they have chances though of beating their all time best place in the Vision that is the 5th one & was done by the GreAtY amazing Rona of course <3 🙂 Albania is *alive* on the race to win in the Vision the next 10-15-20(the… Read more »
