People of Atlanta, Las Vegas and Orillia, Ontario — it’s time to clear your calendars. Il Volo — the hottest bel canto group to come out of Italy — have announced their North American tour dates for 2016. Yes, they who dominated Eurovision’s Next Top Male Model, who placed third at Eurovision 2015, and who remain our imaginary baes, are expanding their tour to the United States (and Canada) in February and March of 2016.

The tour is in anticipation of an upcoming album and kicks off at Kleinhans Music Hall in Buffalo, NY on February 5. (No word yet on whether they will perform the song they are working on for an upcoming tribute album to Elvis).

It’s great they haven’t won Eurovision – so they don’t stop.
Currently only for Grande Amore they have 55M of views on youtube, they won charts, they do new music.
You can see on their schedule http://ilvolotour.net/ they are adding new shows already. Members of our fanclub already can’t buy tickets for most of their shows in US

@davve I don’t know where you live, but Grande Amore has won Sanremo, has topped obviously the Italian charts and was in a few countries’ top 10, has achieved a triple platinum and almost 40 million views on youtube. It has won the televote by a huge margin and it has not won ESC simply because some jurors in a few countries have placed the song last in their preferences. You see those jurors are normal people like you and me…. actually… by reading your comments those jurors are more like you. I didn’t like Heroes, but that’s my personal… Read more »

Of course people can’t stop hating on Il vovo and must comment on an Il vovo article about how much they dislike them. If you have that much time in your hands why not use it to follow your favorite eurovision artist? they all have social media go figure.

ESCaddict, Grande Amore has no chance at any modern chart. It is a not contemporary mish mash of pop and opera… only in creation to please the most simple of minds. They sing great, dont get me wrong.. their vocals were great.. but the song itself is a as I said a mish mash of pop and opera…. and not very good opera…..

The jurys placed italy lower than both russia and sweden for a reason……..

Grande Amore was so much better than Sweden’s contemporary piece of plastic. It is disappointing that the juries have lower standards than the general public. Let’s hope they raise their standards in 2016.

So happy that Swedens song won over this not contemporary piece. it is a “simple song” appealing to the lightest of minds…..

Had Italy won with this song ESC would have taken 10 steps back in its way of modernizing the contest and the winning songs.

Plus they are known in NA (thank you PBS), especially in Latin America! So I’m not surprised they are touring here after the success of Grande Amore.

I’m just happy that I can see any ESC performer within 15 minutes from home, much less Il Volo! In fact, four of their concert dates are within 2 hours from home!

Usually some of these shows include a meet and greet (with a pledge to some Public TV station).

I am so happy about their success, really. Before ESC, I was split among the Swedish song & the Italian song. I said that I’ll decide on the Final’s evening. I voted for Italy, numerous times. And I hated Sweden’s performance because it was SO plastic even though I knew every detail beforehand (watching their NF & the Semi). I am so glad that they are spreading their success outside the Eurovision bubble. There was one comment under their YT video stating that in 5-10 years, Il Volo may be GRANDE popular, while Mans will only sing on Eurovision related… Read more »

@ Well their song was great… <3 It doesn't matter at all how they did on charts..
Almost non of all the other great songs charted on charts either..
EuroVision & the success on charts do not stick-go together as it has proved gazzilion times..

Finishing off on April Fools’ Day in a rather inauspicious venue, I see. I hope they don’t lose all that tour money in Temecula. 🙂

But seriously, I hope the tour goes well, and that they mention Eurovision at every possible opportunity.

I am so happy Il Volo did not win ESC. Their song is not contemporary. It has not been a chart success after ESC … Måns song was contemporary, had a modern stage act and a great vocalist.

And people complaining about jury vs televote results has to admit that had Il Volo won the jury voting but placed sixth in the televoting instead you all would say, Give more power to the jury groups.

All countries signs up to the same rules. It is fair.

Oh thats great.. 🙂 I would really like it to go & watch Il Volo LIVE on their concert.. 🙂 I had their song *Grande Amore * as my 3rd most favorite among the 40 songs of Vienna’s Vision <3 { *Heroes* is my 4th most favorite 4 the record } They were the big winners on both televoting & OGAE fun clubs voting.. And of course their 6th place in the juries with such few points as 170 was totally rigged…They scored this low placing so to NOT win eventually as the were the big winners of televoting with… Read more »
