ISA — the hip-shaking, shoulder-popping, neck-bobbing break-out star of Melodifestivalen 2015 — has just dropped her new single “Oh My”. Our sister from up north has put down the bubble gum and slowed down the pace for this sultrier number that melds balladry, R&B and a lil’ bit of rap. ISA doesn’t need to shake her hips and bust out the midriff in every number. You know why? Cause she’s an ARTIST.
The (mostly) black-and-white video pays homage to all of the fans ISA has made over the past year. As she said on Instagram, they’ve helped her have the best summer EVER. The video flashes back to some of her proudest moments — including qualifying from her heat of Melodifestivalen 2015 — and shows her performing to packed-out crowds. If you didn’t watch her sing “Drum and Bass” at Lotta på Liseberg or see her werk “Don’t Stop” at Allsång på Skansen, you need to do so right now.
The video seems to give us two story lines. One is the real-life love story ISA has going on with her fans. The other is how she (or at least her character in the song) knows it’s time to say goodbye to Mr. Wrong. You see her writing lyrics in her diary: “Don’t smile. He’s just another bad guy to fall for. I’m not blind…” No you are not!
Are you loving this different side of ISA? Are you feeling her slower material? Should she become a rap artist? Let us know in the comments box below. You can also watch our various interviews with ISA from Melfest 2015 below.
@ Well i really dunno about that though…With no offense to Isa of course..
To win the whole Melodifestivalen is really HARD job!
Sanna last year managed to win at last on her 7th effort!
Mans won on his 3rd attempt…He was just even lucky..
Alcazar although have tried already 4 times with great songs they still have never won..
And the list goes on with other participants..
(By the way, this comment of mine will gonna get removed in a while automatically itself because of that annoying glitch with the site..)
Isa will win Melodifestivalen one day.. sooner or later.
Well Isa was from the acts that stood out the most in this Melodifestivalen.. But she still is too young & has all the time in the world to mature…She is just 17 years old currently… (I was the same age back in 2003..) I might was turned off by her melfest song *Don’t Stop* that was obviously a rip off of the popular hit *Shake It Of* but ok whatever.. Ok this song of hers is kinda nice though.. Add the word -god- after her *Oh My* new song’s title and as result we have this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMs9feeSknk hehe..… Read more »
