Europeans (at least some of them) can’t wait to find out who will host Eurovision 2016, with Måns Zelmerlöw, Petra Mede and Sanna Nielsen currently at the top of our readers’ lists. However, SVT has announced that Miss Nielsen will host Allsång på Skansen next summer, confirming recent rumours. Did SVT hand her that as a consolation prize because she won’t be hosting Eurovision? And does this clear the ground for Petra and Måns? Expressen says YES.
According to the popular Swedish tabloid, Sveriges Television desperately wants Eurovision’s most beloved MILF and the current Eurovision winner to host Eurovision 2016 together. Nothing is definite, but it’s an A-list duo that would go down a treat.
Sanna Nielsen was also on SVT’s list, and she would have loved to do it, but after the announcement of her hosting the enormous summer festival it’s pretty clear that the blonde won’t do ESC too. But Eurovision is indeed unpredictable, so all you “Undo” lovers shouldn’t lose hope!
Gina Dirawi, who co-hosted Melodifestivalen two times, among many other events, as well as Sarah Dawn Finer, aka part-time EBU spokesperson Lynda Woodruff, are also popular among the bookies. SDF is still in the game, and she may deal with the production in some form.

Well… In my opinion I will see Sanna Nielsen and Måns Zelmerlöw hosting in Stockolm; and Loreen in the green room because they are 30 years old, they are loved by the sweden people and eurovision’s fans and repeat the hosting in 2013 with Petra Mede (and Eric Saade in the green room) isn’t original. Sverige have singers for more future’s eurovisions and hosters for more victories.

Some really good suggestions on this article about potential host(s). Being Swedish and having watched the Eurovision 2013 live, I hope that SVT will choose people that can sing, entertain and have a great doesa of humour! I like Petra, but I don’t love her. And I really think someone else should get a chance as well, especially because she’s already done Eurovision’s Greatest Hits as well.
Sanna and Mans would be perfect, but if Sarah Dawn Finer would do it I would be happy as well.
@Robyn Gallagher, I don’t know where you get your sources from. Allsång is not more prestigious or bigger than Eurovision in Sweden. Eurovision is like the biggest thing right now to host. It’s in fact even bigger than Melodifestivalen, and that would have been unlikely a few years ago.Everyone wants to do it. I would in fact argue that Allsång is the more specific one since it requires a really good singer and entertainer, which is why Sanna was chosen- With MF and ESC you can choose a good entertainer and that is a bigger pool to choose from. Honestly, I liked Petra, but I don’t think we need more from her, she already gave us enough and in 2013 she did fantastic. For me, the hosting role should be for any of the follow: Danny Saucedo, Gina Dirawi, Sarah Dawn Finer, Sanna Nielsen, Mans Zelmerlow or Alcazar (YES! Them). I think that if Alcazar are chosen, they can do it well, bring good vibes to folks watching and don’t seem annoying at all. I really love Petra, but I really don’t want her to host again. Sweden is full of talent, and she’s already hosted the 2013 ESC and the 60th anniversary special. That is more than enough.
I hope they stick with Måns in the green room like what they did with Conchita, but I wouldn’t have any problem if he hosted the actual thing.
As main hosts I want Sanna or SDF (as Lynda ofc) or Alcazar.
Sometimes I am amazed with the amount of time people do waste with things like who’s going to host next year’s Eurovision. To what extent is something like this so earth shattering almost as if the world would die tomorrow?
I’m obviously the only person who didn’t like Petra’s hosting in 2013. Though professional enough, she was very robotic and lacked the ability to improvised or play along with anything that wasn’t on her script. I’m sure Sweden can do better. Just my opinion y’all.

Sanna and Mans would be the perfect duo to present the ESC. I liked Petra, but she is not the best presenter ever – Pilou and Nikolai were. And I want something new, she presented 2 years ago. Not what I wanted, but it could have been worse.
I hope we will see Gina Dirawi and Danny Saucedo, their chemistry really worked on Melodifestivalen 2013.

I am quiet surprised that SVT wants Petra Mede, again! She’s my favourite host but I just didn’t expect her hosting eurovision 2016 (even though it’s not official yet…) But I like Petra more when she’s the only host. I mean she was good in London with Graham Norton, but she was way better in 2013.
I would like more Sarah winning melodifestivalen than hosting eurovision. And I thought/think Sanna or Gina could surprise along with Eric Saade or Danny Saucedo
